The Black Cauldron was also released on Laserdisc, both in France and Japan . I do not presently have any scans of the Japanese Laserdisc (it's using the re-titled name for the movie Taran and the Magic Cauldron). The Laserdisc version is apparently still pan and scan but much better quality video and audio then the VHS copy. French and English language are available along with subtitles on the French disc (the French title scene remains intact though) while Japanese and English are the options on the Japanese disc (both for subtitles and language). Both discs are double sided CLV (extended play). The Japanese disc is NTSC (US standard) while the French disc is PAL. Here are some better pictures I made myself of my copy of the French Laserdisc.
