Info for the members of the WGN Haters Club

This is a response that I got from a person at WGN about the crappy time slots and such. Read and cry.

"The reason WGN airs nationally and that you're able to pick us up is sports. We've agreed to carry the WB on our satellite signal until they've acquired an adequate amount of affiliates. That means that this MAY be the last season we carry them on our satellite signal. What is for sure is that WGN will continue carrying the WB only in the Chicago area. As for the closing credits, the WB has now made it available for affiliates to tease their local newscasts."

Is everyone ok? Breath. This is not the end of your Buffy watching if worse comes to worse. Breath. There is always the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Tape Trade , thank goodness. Breath. You can always make arrangments to get your Buffy fix there.

The poor people whom they are referring to are those who don't live around Chicago but get the WB programing from them. I am pretty sure the Chicago people are safe.

But wait! There is hope. The WB has gotten a few more affiliates that are now signed to run WB programs untill the year 2008 or something. There is at least some WB programing available in 87% of the US. There has been talk about moving Buffy's time slot to Tuesdays rather than follow a totally different type of show like 7th Heaven. If that were to take place, it would not happen untill after New Years. Hopefully this will attract more viewers and consequently make the WB TV Network a better affiliate. Maybe TV stations will be rushing to be associated with the WB. After all, they have Joss. Some of you may know this but Joss was an A list screen writer before he retired that part of his career to work on BtVS. He was making ridiculous amounts of money, but on Buffy, he has to scrape by with only 1.2 million dollars per episode. He has total creative control at the WB because he is the WB. He recently signed a 16 million dollar contract with FOX. He says he likes doing Buffy because it is like making a mini-movie each week. He gets to do things the way he wants to, not like the movie was. He has his own company, Mutant Enemy, which he drew the logo for and recorded the "urrrr-arrg." Right now, he is the biggest thing the WB has. With the Hollywood gold like Joss to toss around, the WB should be on its feet for a while. I really doubt that WGN is going to kick the WB off their channel for good.
