lived directly opposite the apartment where the first episodes of the serie was
recorded. He has lived in the same apartment since the seventies. The same
place where he met and lived next door to Larry David.
And Kenny Kramer was even almost a look-a-like to the Kramer character
in the serie, with bristeling hair and a remarkable movement. But Kenny's
hair does not defy gravity like his TV counterpart.
"Of course I'm proud to have a TV-copy of myself. But I was very disappo-
inted when I couldn't play my own character. I am acomedian too, you know",
says Kenny Kramer.
Since the serie was put in production in 1989, things went only gone uphill for
Seinfeld and Davis. They moved to L.A., became famous and made a fortune.
"The Real Kramer" stayed back in New York - unemployed, poor and unsuc-
cessful.
All this was before a good deal of publisity provided that "The Real Kramer"
became known to publisity. Now is Kenny Kramer famous and rich too. His
"Seinfeld reality tour" caused media sensation when he created it in 1996. It's
a multi-media guided bus tour for fans of the serie, goes several times a week.
Under this tour you will have the chance to see all theSeinfeld sights, and
Kenny Kramer tells his own personal story.
Kenny found out Larry wanted to create a sitcom when Larry one night came
to Kenny and told about his meeting with Jerry and said he needed a neighbor
in the show.
"I want to base him on you", Larry said, "Is that ok?"
"Sure, be my guest", Kenny replied.
When asked to play Kramer Kenny said "Sure! Are you kidding?" He said
to Larry:
"Larry, listen. You're writing a character based on me, that looks like me, that
talks like me, that has ideas that are my philosophies, how about me playing
Kramer"?
"No, you can't play Kramer...You're not right for it", Larry told.
"What do you mean I'm not right for it?  I am Kramer!"
