''Is that man stairing at my butt?''Humm. . .

That's the kind of reaction this movie inspires.

Just "humm".

Fraid your gonna have to make up your own mind on this one. Its not like this is a bad movie. But it doesn't generate enough entertainment value to get a higher rating from me.

I'll let you decide if this movie is for you after you read the plot. In the future the city of L.A has designed a virtual reality program called SID 6.7("The only way to discribe this killer is Sadistic, Intelligent, and Dangerous.") for the use of training rookie cops. SID is a composite of the personalities of about 200 serial killers so it fallows that if the cops in training can take down 200 serial killers they should be a kick ass fighting force against just one right?

But, like all good movie experiments, this one goes horrible wrong and almost kills two prisoners that the city is using as guinea pigs. The powers that be want SID destroyed but SID's creator has other plans and manages to transfer SID's "mind" into the body of an indestructible android. Since the android body is made of silicon all SID has to do is eat some glass and he can take a lickin' and keep on ticken'.

''Turn around so I can stair at your butt.''Now, a serial killer in a regular body has time and again proved dangerous. Just think what a serial killer with and indestructible body can do. I mean look at the Friday the 13th movies. Better yet, think of 200 serial killers with an indestructible body.

Enter Denzel Washington. Denzel is a former cop named Parker Barns, sent to prison for murdering the murderer of his wife and son. He's also the only person who has managed to match SID in V.R. He should do good against the killer Android in regular R right?

So fallows one big chase movie. My opinion is for you to see what you think. This is one of those movies that didn't make me fall asleep, but didn't have me sitting on the edge of my seat 'nether. While the concept is certainly original its not played with much feeling. Plus you would expect someone with 200 serial killers in they're head to act like there are 200 serial killers in said persons head. Besides one reverence to Charles Manson there's no reference to any other serial killer. Except for the one directly related to Denzel's character. Having SID use the motives of more then just 2 of the 200 might have made this more of a mystery/crime thriller and would have made it more fun to watch.

Nice pants.Denzel Washington has got to have the most symmetrical face in Hollywood. I mean, if you where to fold his face in half you would get two equally matching sides. But in the part of Barns, Denzel doesn't show is best side. He hits that one note and plays it like a piano player with super glue on his fingers. There's very little character development on his part and his chracter is, at best, sketched in. But he plays his part well enough so I can almost over look that.

Almost.

SID is definitely the best actor of the whole movie. But again I would think a composite of serial killers would be a bit more unstable then actor. . . . . plays him to be. Better luck next time.

But its not all bad. There are some cool car chases, some dare devil stunts, and some grizzly murders. Your average splatter punk might be happy. If you want something more though then your SOL, buddy.

RATING(OUT OF A POSSIBLE FIVE)
