The People
The core family of Victoria's Legacy is just that, a legacy. The Marshalls of VL descend from the Marshalls of Liberty Creek: Victorian Refinement in the Old West. After a fire destroyed Nick and Tess Marshall's home in Liberty Creek, the couple decided to start anew in Victoria, British Columbia. They built a successful life there, and had many children. Two sons, Henry and Riley, eventually inherited the Belleterre estate. Most of their daughters married and moved away, but the youngest—Grace, named after her father's out-going baby sister—never married. She led a full life, experiencing most of the major events of the 20th century first-hand, and is still living in her childhood home in Victoria when Victoria's Legacy begins. The oldest son, Andrew, inherited the Victoria estate and businesses and headed the family that remains today until his death in 1964.

Andrew married Katherine Hewitt, daughter of popular LC couple Georgie and Gabe Hewitt, in 1901. Sadly, only one son—Gabriel, born 1906—survived, and Kat was lost giving birth to him. Gabriel married Edwina, a woman 13 years his junior, in 1939. Pierce, John, and Elizabeth came along before Gabriel died in 1963—his oldest child age 23 and his youngest just 5 years old. Their families, along with the families of their friends and associates, form the cast of characters for Victoria's Legacy. An interactive family tree is available.

The characters are listed alphabetically by last name. Clicking on a name will open a character profile in a new browser window. The complete list can only be found on this page, but you will find links to characters mentioned within the profile you're reading. You can also flip back to the main list and choose another character; the second browser window will be opened.

Some of the characters do not yet have pictures to portray them. If you have an image you think would be appropriate for one of those unfortunates, please contact us. As it stands, none of the people used to portray characters in Victoria's Legacy are actually affiliated with the websoap. The author found the images to be a good likeness of their respective character and uses them to help the reader create a visual. If any of the fashions appeal to you, contact the author for information on where shop for similar clothing—we have a pretty good idea where it can be found.
