Heaven

RECAP: Lucky and Nikolas had a fist fight after talking about some of their feelings toward each other. They came to some sort of truce after the fight. Liz was there to "stitch" them up after the fight.
Lucky walked in the Spencer house, and found the living room empty. He looked at the clock. It was after 9. He had been in that Bike shop for 10 hours? He shook his head unbelievably. He only took that job Jason and Mike offered because he thought Liz might find him annoying if he was around 24 hours a day now that they lived in the same house. He wouldn't want that. And if he didn't have somewhere he had to go, he wouldn't be able to control himself to hang around Liz all day long. He never intended to stay away from her all day long instead! Of course, he hadn't been working the entire day. The bike shop closed at 6. But Nikolas came over to the shop, and they just forgot about the time talking about the motorcycles and other things. It had been 3 weeks since their fist fight right here in this living room. Laura and Luke got home that night and found the living room had somehow been rearranged, and Lucky's face swollen. They couldn't really get the details out of Lucky or Liz, but they knew Nikolas was here, and had gotten into a fight with Lucky. Laura had been surprised when Nikolas came over the next day to see Lucky, and not Lulu. Lucky couldn't believe how much time he had been spending with Nikolas. And he didn't mind. Imagine that. He didn't mind spending time with Nikolas. They had started to talk about things. Like other brothers do. It was something new to both of them. Yet, neither found it unpleasant. Maybe they had more in common than they thought. Maybe the idea of a brother wasn't really that far fetched as they thought before. Lucky walked up stairs, ready to take a shower after all the sweating he had done all day in that bike shop. He looked over to the direction of Liz's room. The light was on in there. Maybe he'd take a shower and go see her. He smiled and opened the door to the bathroom, and was shocked when he saw Liz. She had a towel around her, her hair was wet, and she was standing in front of the mirror. She instinctively clutched to the towel with one hand above her chest when the door opened. Lucky was momentarily frozen, his hand stuck on the door knob, and his eyes on Liz. It took him a few seconds to realize what he had done. He shut the door quickly, but couldn't stop his rapid breathing. It was another few seconds later before he found his voice.
Lucky: Elizabeth.....I'm sorry, I didn't realize that someone was in there.
No sound from the other side of the door. Lucky waited. She probably thought I did that on purpose, he thought. Still no sound from the other side. The door opened. He could only see Liz's eyes through the crack. Lucky couldn't tell if she was mad.
Liz: It's OK....I won't be long.
The door closed again. Lucky uncertainly trod into his room. Now what has he done? What if Liz thought he opened that door on purpose knowing she was in there? He should have knocked. He should have remembered that he wasn't the only one using that bathroom any more. They kept the door shut so Lulu wouldn't be tempted to go in there and play with things she shouldn't be playing with. It hadn't occurred to him that someone, like Liz, could be in there. He sat down on his bed, and closed his eyes. It was a good thing that she had the towel around her. Lucky stopped himself from thinking more on that particular topic. He was not going to think about what if she didn't have that towel. He just wasn't going to think about that. He heard the bathroom door opene tentatively. He imagined Liz poking her head out to look around the hallway, and walking quickly into her room. Lucky sighed. What has he done?
He could hear Liz closing her door. He stood up. There was nothing he could do right now. He'd be better off to go take a shower while Liz got dressed. He walked into the bathroom. It was still warm and humid and smelled of Liz from the shower she had taken. He stripped off his clothes, and felt ashamed when, for the first time, he realized that Liz had used this very same room for these very same purposes. His mind strayed. The image of Liz with her hair wet, and only a towel around her popped into his head. He cursed himself.
Lucky: Dammit! Spencer, get a hold of your hormones. You don't want to be like all the other guys out there!
He pulled the shower curtain open angrily, turned on the water, and got in and pulled the shower curtain closed.
Liz had heard Lucky close the bathroom door not long after she was out of it. She could hear the faintest sound of water running now. Her heart was still beating a mile a minute. She continued to dry her hair with the towel after she put on her pajamas. Lucky had almost walked in on her while she was in the nude. She'd had nearly nothing on when he saw her. She should have locked the door. She should have remembered that she was not at gram's house any more where she had her own bathroom. She hoped Lucky didn't think she left the door unlocked on purpose. She took in a sharp breath at that thought. Lucky wouldn't. He would never think that of her. He knew her. She remembered the expression on his face when he saw her. He was simply shocked. So was she. She couldn't get a word out for the life of her, even a few minutes after Lucky had closed the door. She wasn't sure why she had opened the door to tell him she wasn't going to be long. Even if it was just a crack. Maybe she wanted to know that he hadn't left. Maybe she just wanted to see him. She wanted to know that he wasn't mad or....disappointed? She shook her head at that thought. What was she thinking? She couldn't really be worrying that Lucky might not like what he saw. Her hair wet and uncombed, her face red from the shower, her body..... Lucky didn't see anything that he hadn't seen before! He knew what she looked like when she slept, when she first woke up in the morning! Liz was not going to think about the rest at all. She had the towel. It wasn't a big towel, but it covered everything she needed to cover. It was going to be a long time before she could even accept the fact that one day someone, preferably Lucky, was going to see her without anything on her. She wasn't sure when she would ever feel comfortable about that. She knew Lucky would never push her. But how long would he wait? What if she was never going to be able to be with him with no inhibition at all? What would he do when girls were throwing themselves at him for the hundredth time? Lucky was a gorgeous young man. He was sweet, and gentle. He would be every girl's dream come true. Would he be able to wait for her forever? Even if they waited till they were married, would she be ready even then? She heard the bathroom door open. She could hear Lucky's footsteps lightly when he walked backed to his room. She pictured his hair wet, and smelling of the clean soap. He would have looked like a dream come true. She blushed a little at her own thoughts. Maybe she wasn't that much different from the other girls after all. She sighed. Lucky was not going to come in to her room and talk to her. It was up to her. She knew he would be waiting for her to talk to him. She stood up, and opened her door, looked down the hall. Lucky's door was open. She took a step toward its direction, stopped. Lucky's body filled the door frame. He'd put on a t-shirt and shorts. He was looking straight at her. She slowly moved toward his room, their eyes on each other. She was finally in front of his door. Lucky's intense blue eyes were still staring at her.
Lucky: How was your day?
Lucky moved away from the door and let her in. He turned away from her. She couldn't see his face. Was he going to pretend that nothing happened? Her eyes searched around the room for something to concentrate on while she thought of what to say. They rested on the book opened on his bedside stand. It was her journal. She had forgotten about that. She'd been writing in a new journal she got after she gave the old one to Lucky. She hadn't even thought about it with all the excitement and commotion for her moving into the Spencer house. She felt her face heat up even more. She walked gingerly to the stand, and put her hand on the journal.
"Lucky looked like a prince. The jacket didn't exactly fit him too well, but he was gorgeous. This was the second wedding we went to together. Well, technically speaking, that first time didn't really count. This time Lucky had wanted to sit by me. He'd had his arm around me, he'd told me that I looked beautiful. I could feel the urge again. I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to hold his hand when Mac and Felicia were telling everyone in the church how they got to where they were today. I could feel Lucky's eyes on me when the tears swelled up in my eyes. What I wouldn't give to have someone to love me, and to love someone like that. I just hope I can love him, whoever he might be, completely, holding nothing back when the day comes."
Liz swallowed hard. Her throat felt dry. Lucky was now right behind her. She felt his breath by her ear. He put his hand on top the one of hers on the journal.
Lucky: I never thanked you for writing those nice things about me.
Lucky tucked her hair behind her ear with his fingers. He put his head against hers.
Liz: I forgot about this journal....Have you been reading it all this time?
Lucky: Yes. I think I've memorized them already.
Liz: Lucky...........
Lucky turned Liz around gently. Their eyes found each others again. Lucky smiled ever so slightly. Liz felt her heart tremble. This was the one person who knew her most inner thoughts. This was the person she would one day give herself completely to. She had no doubt about that now.
Lucky: I love you.
He said it so gently, as if it was the only thing in the world that mattered to him. She felt the tears swell up in her eyes. Her lips trembled when his touched them. His kiss was both tender and rough. It sent a shiver down her spine, and a spiral of warmth to her stomach. Lucky's hands ran up and down her spine through the thin material of her pajamas, she felt as if her knees were turning into liquid. His tongue, warm and silky, was exploring everything inside of her lips. She couldn't think. She joined him with her own exploration. The kiss was intoxicating. Their bodies were pressing against each other so closely, Liz could feel Lucky's heartbeat. She held on to Lucky's shoulders, and leaned in closer. And then Lucky broke away. He swung around and away from her. Liz was still savoring the sensation she had just felt. She was sure she had not been the only one feeling it. Lucky's voice was hoarse when he spoke moments later.
Lucky: I think you should go back to your room now.
Liz couldn't believe what she had heard. Lucky just ordered her to leave? Yet it was unmistakable when Lucky turned around took her hand and practically pulled her to the door.
Liz: Lucky.....what....
Lucky: Just go. Elizabeth, just go. Please.
Liz tried to read Lucky's expression, and his eyes. But Lucky simply turned his face away. Liz touched Lucky's arm, but decided not to say anything. She turned and walked out of the room, and heard Lucky slam his door behind her.
"Here Comes Temptation" by Trisha Yearwood
When I see you I'm drawn to you
There's a certain look in your eyes
It's hard to say no to this feeling
No matter how hard I try
Catch me if I'm falling to you
Catch me if I'm breaking away
Oh, I'm looking at paradise
Oh, I'm looking at paradise
Here comes temptation
Tempting me with you
Tempted to get close to you
Here comes temptation
Tempting me with you
If you were to know my secret
I wouldn't feel so shy
Sometimes I think you can see it
It's something I can't hide
All you'd have to do is touch me
And all my resistance would melt away
I'll have to wait until my chance comes by
I know that you will be mine
Here comes temptation
Tempting me with you
Here comes temptation
Tempted to get close to you
Here comes temptation
Tempting me with you
