the two producers were all very impressed by his performance.

Within two weeks, Lucky got the call from V informing him that he had officially been selected as the new artist L/B would love to sign. Lucky still had the phone in his hand not knowing what to say when Liz, who had heard Lucky's half of the conversation, wrapped her arms around him from behind and muffled the scream that came deep from her heart.

Lucky: I....I can't believe it........

Liz turned Lucky around and caught his face in her hands, her eyes shining with pride.

Liz: Believe it, Lucky! It's happening! Your dream is coming true!

Lucky's smile reached the corners of his eyes, he threw the phone down and picked Liz up, circled around the living room.

Lucky: Oh, Elizabeth...... It is...It is coming true! I would never have imagined this....Elizabeth.......

They danced around the living room, giddy with laughter, bursting with joy. When Laura and Luke walked into the living room, they exchanged a confused smile looking at Lucky and Liz twirling around the living room in each other's arms.

Luke: All right, if this is a new ritual you two have taken up on, fine with me, just don't expect me to take up on it too, OK?

Lucky and Liz stopped dancing, but the smiles on their faces told Luke and Laura that something big--something big and wonderful-- had happened.

Laura: What's going on? Would you guys please share the great news with us?

Lucky and Liz looked at each other, Liz nudged Lucky forward.

Lucky: Well, um, Mom, dad..........

Lucky scratched his head, not sure of where to start. He hadn't thought about the time would come for him to have to tell his parents that he was going to actually record an album for a known record company. He hadn't even told them about the audition yet!

Luke: Well, cowboy, are you going to tell it or do we have to drag it out of you?

Lucky looked back at Liz, she smiled at him. Lucky turned back to his parents.

Lucky: OK, a couple of weeks ago, I went to this audition at L/B.......
Laura: L/B? That's the record company, isn't it?
Luke: Well, well, cowboy, aren't you a great one for secrets!
Lucky: Anyway....the audition went really well.......

Laura walked forward to hug Lucky.

Laura: Oh, that's wonderful, honey!
Lucky: Thanks...but that's not all, mom.

Laura heard the importance and excitment in Lucky's voice, and she released him from the hug, looked him straight in the eyes, waited for him to continue.

Lucky: Well, V just called, and ....... they want to sign me.
Luke: Sign you? As in, for a record deal?

Luke was now walking toward the rest of them in the center of the living room, his eyes brightened, and the lopsided smile lit up his face as he watched his son nodding his head.

Lucky: Yeah, they want to sign me to a three year contract, and at least three albums during that period!
Laura: Oh, my god, Lucky! That's wonderful! Why didn't you tell us when you went to the audition?
Lucky: Well, mom, I didn't want to say anything because you guys would probably have made it into a big deal if I did...........
Laura: Oh, honey, but it is a big deal! My son.....is going to have his own record!
Luke: So, if I want you to sing at my club, I better get you there now before you get so hot and famous and demand too much money for performing, huh?

Lucky laughed, seeing the pride in his father's eyes.

Lucky: Yeah, dad, better sign me to an indefinite years of FREE PERFORMANCE contract now before it's too late!

Luke came over and put his arms around his son and his wife, pulling Liz into the hug while he was at it.

Luke: I'll bet this young lady had a lot to do with this happening!

Lucky grinned at Liz, then at Luke.

Lucky: I probably wouldn't have gone to the audition to begin with if weren't for Elizabeth!

Laura smiled at Liz.

Laura: Well, Elizabeth, as usual, you've done the most important part!
Liz: Oh, no. I didn't. Lucky's talent had more to do with this than anything else. He would have eventually gotten noticed anyway!

Luke winked at Liz, and the family embraced again. All eight arms entangled in the web of laughter.

L/B had decided to put everything into promoting Lucky. He was going to be the first new artist for the company since it was purchased by Jax. V was working over time with the advertisers, and in the recording studio as well. Jax also constantly stopped by during the three months of recording the new album. Chris and Shelby, the two producers, had decided to use many of the songs Lucky had written himself and decided on the title of the album: *Lucky*. That had gotten Lucky to put up a fight for he thought it was too obnoxious to use his own name as the title of the album, but his argument could not compare with the producers and V's. They thought it was entirely appropriate since the album is Lucky's very first, and it was about Lucky's view of the world.
At first Lucky only went to the studio when school was out, but gradually it was apparent that he needed more time at the studio. After talking to Luke and Laura, and of course, Liz, he started to go to the school during the day, and to the studio after lunch, and arranged for the school to agree to let him do the rest of the work at home as long as he took all his tests, and passed them with flying colors. Liz had visited Lucky at the studio numerous times, usually sitting quietly with a smile on her face. She had all the faith in Lucky, and she was sure the album was going to be the hottest one on the shelf once it hit the stores. Lucky was singing with his heart. And she knew that would move people. It had moved her from the very beginning.

Liz was right. She was right about everything.

"LUCKY" was released right before Christmas. Port Charles had the advantage of being Lucky's hometown, and where his first public performance had taken place to introduce his first album. It was a smash. Lucky had simply became THE new artist in the music industry. Lucky was doing a lot of live performances over Christmas break promoting the album. He did, however, managed to stay home on Christmas Eve. After dinner, Lucky and Liz walked out to the porch, and sat on the swing like they did so many times before.
The air was crisp and cold, as a Port-Charles winter should be. They brought a thick comforter out with them, and snuggled inside of it. Lucky had Liz's hands between his palms, rubbing them slowly. Liz rested her head on Lucky's shoulder contentedly, and sighed.

Lucky: What's the matter?

Liz smiled, and closed her eyes.

Liz: Oh, I am just happy to be sitting right here. With you. Finally.
Lucky: Yeah, me too. You know the whole week I was somewhere else performing, I was always hoping that you could have been there. I told V and Shelby that I just have to be home for Christmas no matter what! I was going crazy missing all of you, especially you..........

Liz smiled again without opening her eyes. Lucky dipped down and kissed her, deepening the kiss until they both felt their lips turning hot, and hungry, and craving to be closer, and closer. Their lips bushed, their tongues tangled, teased, and probed into the other's mouth, taking everything. She'd missed being kissed like that. Liz thought, after the kiss stopped and she was once again snuggled up against Lucky, sharing his warmth.
She'd missed Lucky more than she thought it was possible to miss someone. She'd been hanging out with Nikolas and missing Lucky miserably. She'd remembered thinking to herself that she really needed to broaden her horizon if the only people she hung around on the daily bases were Lucky and his brother. She'd never felt that way when Lucky was around. She'd thought she had everything she needed when Lucky was with her everyday. Yet, when Lucky was on the road this past week, she'd realized that she had been living her life around Lucky. Everything had been about Lucky and her. For the first time, she was noticing how little of a life she'd had outside of being with Lucky. Sure, she painted. It was the one thing she'd always loved doing. Then why did she feel lonely even when she was doing it? It was because Lucky wasn't around. For the first time, she worried about not having a world separate from Lucky's. Lucky was chasing his dream now. It was more than likely he would have to go on tours more and perhaps be gone even longer. How was she going to survive that if the only thing important in her life was Lucky, and he was not going to be there every single day now? Liz shook her head, trying to stop herself from thinking about it. Lucky was here, with her, right now. She was going to treasure every moment of it. She wasn't going to be worrying about something else while Lucky was with her. She turned to Lucky, and smiled.

Liz: So, are you gonna tell me everything interesting that happened this past week?
Lucky: Well, what do you want to hear?
Liz: Anything. How did you like performing in front of so many fans?

Lucky chuckled.

Lucky: Fans? Those people went to the performance because it was free. They had no idea who I was!
Liz: Maybe not when they first went to the concert, but I'm sure after the first song, every one of them were instantly your biggest fans!
Lucky: I don't know about that....I was just glad that no one got up and left!

Lucky and Liz both laughed out loud.

Liz: See? Everyone stayed because they thought you were great!
Lucky: I hope you are right.... V said the record selling is going up pretty steadily, so I guess that's a good sign.
Liz: Lucky, you are going to be so famous! I just know it!
Lucky: Think you'll still like me if that really happens?

Lucky grinned at Liz. Liz turned to Lucky and smiled mischievously.

Liz: Guess we'll find out, Lucky Spencer.
Lucky: Oh, really.......

Lucky abruptly held both of Liz's hands tightly with one hand, and with the other hand, he started to tickle Liz. Liz jumped up with laughter, and brought Lucky up with her, the comforter fell off as Liz struggled to free her hands from Lucky and started running off the porch with Lucky chasing after her. Their laughter filled the night air as Lucky caught Liz in his arms and both fell to the ground. Lucky pinned Liz down with his own body, holding Liz's hands above her head. Lucky grinned down at Liz, triumphant in his eyes.

Lucky: Think you can get away that easily, huh?

Liz giggled, her lips pressed firmly together, not saying a word. Her face was now flushed and warm despite the cold air around them. Her hair tangled about her, tempting Lucky to thread his fingers through them. Lucky's grin turned into a sensual smile, slowly, surely, making Liz's heart jumped like a deer in the spring field. Lucky gave into the temptation, and lifted one hand to touch Liz's hair, gently brushing it, feeling it with his finger tips. He leaned down, brushed his lips to Liz's with the same gentleness, once, twice. His eyes were now the color of the ocean, drowning Liz in its passion. She heard herself swallowed. When Lucky kissed her again, it was all fire and no holding back. His lips teased and urged, when Liz parted her lips, Lucky plunged right in, he ran his tongue over her teeth, smoothing and touching hers with it, back out a little to bite her lips softly, again and again, and then surged right back into her mouth, tasting the sweetness of her, driving both of them over the edge, thinking in the back of their heads that they were on the ground, in front of the house, where someone could very well look out the window and see them.

Then it happened.

The first snow flake fell on the tip of Liz's nose.
Lucky stopped, his lips still touching Liz's. He gradually moved away a little, and they both looked up the sky. The snow was coming down softly, silently, like a dream. A perfect dream. Liz sat up, smiling with her arms up above her catching the snow flakes.

Liz: It's snowing, Lucky!

Lucky was smiling at the sky as well.

Lucky: Yes, it is.........
Liz: We are going to have a white Christmas! Fresh snow!!

Liz leaped to her feet, waving her arms around, loving the snow wetting her hair and her face. It wasn't as if there hadn't been snow that winter, but there is something magical about snow on a Christmas Eve. Lucky stood up, feeling the snow touching his hair, his face, his shoulders........
On that Christmas Eve, the rest of the Spencers looked out the window, smilingly watching the two giddy teenagers dancing in the snow, screaming their hearts out. The sound of the silver-bell like laughter in the air was the most wonderful magic of all.
