The Canada House Tavern had stood at the corner of Queen and Sherbourne Streets for as long as I can remember. Although it was run down, and fights could break out at any time, the place still remained popular. The landlord decided not to renew the lease.

Another long lasting tavern was the Beresford. Although it had been renovated and renamed Who's On First, I guess it didn't remain too popular because it was closed due to not paying the rent. It was just a little east of Sherbourne on Queen.
