Welcome to the page of madness. This page is to celebrate the greatest hard rock god in the world, OZZY OSBOURNE. Ozzy was in a band in the 1970's called Black Sabbath. Many believe that Black sabbath broke through many musical barriers during that time. with Tony Iommi's hypnotic guitar riffs, bill wards ground shaking drumming and Terry Geezer Butlers devilish bass playing and ozzy's Gothic and Satanic sounding voice they plowed through the 70's with the fury of a tornado And that is amazing especially when they were in a time when peace love and flower children controlled the music industry. Black Sabbath felt that there was nothing wrong with peace and love. but they also believed that life isn't all love and peace. They believed that there was a darkside that everyone had and that not everyone was happy and peaceful every second of the day.

Black Sabbath was originally called EARTH. they changed their name shortly after they saw a Boris Karloff movie called BLACK SABBATH. They found it a bit amusing that people would pay good money to be scared out of their wits. that's when they decided on a horror theme that would put them down in history as being the creators of heavy metal. some people have deemed them as the premier goth band.

many people believed that their first hit song. the self tittled song BLACK SABBATH also came from the movie. while it is true the name came from the movie. the song was written before the name was even thought of. the idea of the song came from a nightmare that Terry Geezer Butler had. He dreamed that a big black shape with eyes of fire came to him and stood at the foot of his bed pointing at him. Thus came the first line to the song "WHAT IS THIS THAT STANDS BEFORE ME? A FIGURE IN BLACK THAT POINTS AT ME".

Ozzy and black sabbath rocked the world for 10 years straight. Generating mega hits though out the 1970's. Creating controversy every step on their way. Although the critics ripped them to pieces. It still didn't stop the roller coaster of success. They were accused of everything from causing suicide's to promoting black magic and devil worship. Which was a bunch of lie's from people who never took the time to listen. Because they spent most of that time criticizing sabbath. Some critics gave them bad revues without even ever seeing them. I do have to confess, i listened to the critics and believed them myself. Until i took the time to listen the music and realized how wrong they were.

Ozzy was fired by black sabbath in 1980 by drummer and close friend Bill Ward. Ward never like doing the job. He was unfortunately chosen to give Ozzy the bad news. The excuse given to the press of Ozzy's being fired was that ozzy was out of control and his dependents on drugs was the main factor. but, truth be it known is they all had their own drug problems. What i believe is, Tony Iommi thought Ozzy's replacement Ronnie James Dio would be better at the job then ozzy. In my opinion, Black Sabbath without ozzy is like the beatles without lennon. It is not Black Sabbath! I and many other fans will accept no imitations!
