Software Engineering: Learned the concepts, methods, and current practices of software engineering. Designed and implemented an automated substitute scheduling program using Java.

Software Tools and Methods: Learned concepts and techniques of constructing software in a systematic fashion using detailed designs and specifications, various development tools, and object oriented design and analysis with UML.

Computer Networks: Learned the concepts of computer network architectures, the layering of communication protocols, and the function(s) of each layer. Performed an evaluation of the efficiency of coaxial cable versus twisted pair cable through switched and shared Ethernet.

Computer Graphics: Learned the concepts and techniques of computer animation. Developed animated programs using OpenGL APIs in C++.

Organizational Information Systems: Performed a self-analysis of UC Irvine OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogs) systems that included Antpac and Melvyl to determine the systems’ effectiveness and feasibility and provided recommendations for improvements on the systems based on the analysis.
