Morning Memories is, we hope, a character driven story. The main character is Drey, a three thousand year old Vampire Maven of enormous power. Do not be decived though ... Drey is not the most powerful Vampire, not by far, to his extreme discomfort. There is one who seeks to control him, and The Council itself has plans for him.
With Drey are two of his fledglings. One is Jericho, a fledgling Drey made over one hundred years ago. Matthew, however, is Drey's current favourite, and there is much interest in this new fledgling to use as a pawn. Other vampires close to Drey are Han Shen, the Maven Council member who controls Drey, or tries to. Jason, once known to Drey as Iago and friend, and his human companion lover Grace, who's illness threatens her life, and Jason's newfound happiness.
Other players in the game are SiNaundra, an old opponent of Drey's ... Her former love and current Rogue Greg. Jackie and his little brother Danny, those two boys that an uncontrolled Matthew runs into while escaping one night. Also Janice, human companion and mindless Thrall of Jericho's, a pain in Drey's side seeing that all of New York is looking for her. Catherine and Luthor Byrd, behind the scenes characters that have more power than most expect two humans to possess.
