Here's what people are saying:
While I must admit, that it is a bit rough around the edges, the film is pretty damn impressive. Before starting a full review, we have to get a few things straight. This film was made with an incredibly low budget (no budget). Second, it was made with real people whoe are not actors, they merely played the parts they were cast, and do not do this for a living. Having said that, the film was a good watch.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a perfect movie on many peoples scales. The filming is a bit rough, and the acting done by friends, but the story is far more in depth I could have ever done. In order to truely appreciate this film, one must suspend all of the Hollywood expectations, and think to themselves,"What kind of movie could I make for no money with a Handy cam?"
Not a damn thing!
Having said all that, the movie starts out with a bang (literally). The begining is a bit difficult  to get everything straight, but once it gets going, you'd better hold on to your seat. The story is somewhat of a spin-off of Halloween, but does a great job at not relying on much from it other then the main character and some music. It's a totally different story then Halloween which was interesting, because I wasn't sure how they'd pull that off. There are a couple of strange little twists in the movie that keep the viewers interest and wanting to know more. There are also some good quality scares....just ask my wife!
As for the ending I'd been teased about, well I must admit that I didn't see it coming. I thought I had it pegged, but I was wrong. It was not disturbing in any way, but I don't think it was intended to be. It was, however, one hell of a suprise! Compared to many of the weak endings I've seen lately, it worked for me!
My score: 5 beers out of a 6 pack! Great job Bogey!

***SPOILERS***
The Last Halloween is an ametuer classic! From the gripping soundtrack, taken mainly from H2, to Bogey as a very convincing Shape. All I have to say is Dick Warlock, LOOK OUT! George Wilbur and Chris Durand couldn't hold a candle to the great acting of Bogey. Did I mention the rate at which his friend Jay, goes through beer (Busch)? "This guy, this man, he's not human!" I got drunk just watching him pound those beers. I'm suprised he wasn't seeing a few Michaels chasing him around. Prehaps the best scene of the movie is the ending, at The Haunted Forest......ala H20 when the Shape's head is chopped off only to find out, OH NOOOOOO, It wasn't Michael after all.
While this movie might not win any academy awards in Hollywood, it'll win several with all those that were fortunate enough to get a copy. I give this movie nine beers, mainly because that's how many I drank watching it..........and let me tell you something, I am HUNGOVER! I'll be watching it again this evening, because I'm sure there were parts I missed while I was bowled over with laughter!

One word: IMPRESSIVE!

I agree that acting was what one would expect from non-professionals, and the picture quality literally screams "HandyCam", but the film is nonetheless a great viewing experience. The packaging and cover art were also exceptional. I agree with Chester, that the script was well thought out, an interesting take on the Halloween mythos, and an interesting departure from the norm. But what struck me  most vividly was the professionalism of the editing, sound effects, and the infrequent visual tweaks. The movie is also presented in a "widescreen" format, and the credits are slick and polished.
I'll even go one step further and say that "Bogey" made a darn impressive Shape, and some of the murder sequences far outclass anything found in H4 - H20. My personal fave was the death of the detective. It's a shame only a small quantity of these were produced. This video belongs in any HALLOWEEN fan's collection! Now if only the creators of the "real" HALLOWEEN films could have been even half as creative..........
