Mamoru Vs. Darien...bum bum bummm...

Well, here we are. One of my very favorite characters on Sailormoon (Both DiC and the original Japanese) are Mamoru/Darien. But many times I've pondered: Which version of his own self is better? Let me expand here and I'll let you decide for yourself.

Voice Talent

Hey guys I'm sorry, but I can't stand Mamoru's voice. I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason I feel like it doesn't fit the way he looks. On the other hand, DiC's Darien has had 3 voices, Rino Romano for episodes 1-11, Toby Proctor for episodes 12-65, and Vince Corraza for episodes 66-82. (That Information Came from the Meatball Head Moon Page, I thought I should give credit.)I don't like Rino Romano as Darien, but I do like Toby Proctor and Vince Corraza. However, I still think Toby Proctor did the best job as Darien.

I was thinking that maybe I liked Toby Proctor best because I was introduced to the DiC episodes before the Japanese ones. But I don't think this is the case because I can easily adjust to everyone else's voice in Japanese-- just not Darien. So DiC wins the contest in this portion.

Tuxedo Mask or Tuxedo Kamen?

Argh, definately Tuxedo Kamen. His speeches aren't as..how can I put it...really dumb as Tuxedo Mask's. I cringe at Tuxedo Mask's little introduction speeches, so the japanese version wins here.

Well hey, what about the Manga?

Well, Mamoru/Darien is much more romantic in the Manga than he is in the anime, that's for sure, not that Mamoru/Darien in the Anime doesn't have his good moments. :) If he didn't I probably wouldn't like him at all. Hm, but still I think the Manga wins this portion.

...And Moonlight Knight?

This guy has too many forms of himself. Personally, The Moonlight Knight is my least favorite, he is the cheesiest IMO. Especially that outfit! I know he's there to help the Senshi realize their new powers but..still! Can we do it in any less-cornballish ways, please?

Okay, soooo, in closing, both versions have their ups and downs. No flamings please. The End. :)
