I know when I first got into Sailor Moon last summer, I started out with the Dic Dubbed version. (This is partly the reason why I don't badmouth the dub or DiC because if it wasn't for the dubbing, I would not be a Sailormoon fan in the first place!) Yet whenever I visited many sites, they used the japanese names (as I pretty much do here) and I sure was confused. I know I can't be the *only* one out there that has had the same problem so for all you Dub fans, this little page is for you, to help heighten your websurfing enjoyment.
Serena
Serena, the the Japanese version is Usagi. (Bunny Of The Moon.) She is also the pretty sailor-suited fighter, Sailormoon. There are three forms of Sailormoon: Sailormoon, Super Sailormoon, and Eternal Sailormoon.Most of her attacks deal with love. (Or so it seems to me). She is also Princess Serenity and Neo-Queen Serenity. In English her Princess name is simply Princess Serena. "Odango" is Serena's Hair-style, most commonly referred to as a "Meatball head". As far as I know, there is no english translation for Odango.
Darien
Darien, in the Japanese version is Mamoru. He is also the guardian of the Sailor Senshi (Scouts), Tuxedo Kamen. In English, Kamen translates to Mask. He is also Prince/King Endymion and future husband of Neo-Queen Serenity. In English his Prince form is Prince Darien.
Amy
Amy, in Japanese is Ami. However, they are not pronounced the same way. Ami is pronounced like Ah-mee. She is also the sailor suited fighter Sailor Mercury. Most of her attacks deal with water in some form or another. (Ice, Bubbles, and pure Water.) She has to forms, Sailor Mercury and Super Sailor Mercury.
Raye
Raye, in Japanese, is Rei. She is also the sailor suited fighter Sailor Mars. Most of her attacks deal with Fire. Her other Sailor form is Super Sailor Mars. Rei lives in the temple with her Grandfather, because she doesn't want to live with her father. (Rei's Grandfather is also an "Ecchi" as a sidenote, or a pervert.) She and Usagi fight a lot but they really have a special friendship with each other, perhaps the closest out of all the other Senshi.
Lita
Lita, in Japanese, is Makoto; her friends mostly call her Mako-chan for short though. She is the sailor suited fighter Sailor Jupiter. Most of her attacks deal with force or shock. (I dunno how to put it.)Her other form is Super Sailor Jupiter. Mako-chan's hobby is cooking, and Usagi is especially fond of this hobby since Makoto sometimes makes treats for everyone. ^_^
Mina
Mina, in japanese, is Minako. I think she is less-liked in Japanese because of her voice, but I find she is still one of my favorites *shrug*. She is also the sailor suited fighter Sailor Venus. However, she was the very first Sailor Senshi; when she was Sailor V. Her other form is Super Sailor Venus. Minako moved from England, where she was Sailor V, to join the other Sailor Soldiers, with her cat Artemis.
Reeny/Rini
Reeny/Rini (DiC spells it Rini but I think Reeny is actually a better spelling) is Usagi and Mamoru's daughter from the future. At first she is a spoiled, ungrateful brat. However, she is in the past looking for her mother so she can save her world from destruction in the future. Quite a responsibility for a 6 (?) year old. Later in the series (after the dubbing ends) she becomes Sailor Chibimoon. Her powers are weak, and they mostly just distract the monster-of-the-day so Sailormoon can perform her attack.
Sailor Pluto
Sailor Pluto appears in a few newly dubbed episodes of Sailormoon. She is the guardian of time, and is a close friend of ChibiUsa. (ChibiUsa calls her Puu, and Sailor Pluto calls her Small Lady.) We don't get far enough into the series to see her in civilian form, but her Civilian form in Japanese is Setsuna. She seems to be older than the other Senshi, too.
Haruka
Haruka has also not been dubbed yet. She is Sailor Uranus. Haruka has an intimate relationship with Michiru (Sailor Neptune.) She is often paired with her and protects her with her life. Haruka at first considers the Inner Senshi weak, but I think she begins to mature throughout the series and realizes they are actually very strong.
Michiru
Michiru is the sailor suited fighter Sailor Neptune. She has also not been dubbed into English yet. I told myself I wouldn't put opinions in here, but Michiru is one of the characters I don't really like on Sailormoon. Keep in mind I don't hate her, but she would probably be last if I were to put my favorite Senshi in order. Sorry Michiru. :( Her attacks deal mostly with Water, like Sailor Mercury.
Hotaru
Hotaru has also not been dubbed. She is the final Sailor Senshi, Sailor Saturn: The Senshi of Death. At first, she is possessed by Mistress 9, but later on Mistress 9 is defeated and she later becomes Sailor Saturn. Sailor Saturn is often seen holding her Silence Glaive, which can destroy the world. (She killed herself a few times using it, because it's so powerful!).
