OUR AUSTRALIAN COUSINS

    Our Australian cousins need your help in finding links necessary to tie their Fankhauser family to our American Fankhauser family (families).

    Here is what we know about the Australian Fankhausers:

        Josef  Fankhauser born about 1740 married Maria Muiggin.

        Josef  Fankhauser  (1740) had a son named Mathaus (Mathys) Fankhauser born September 3, 1766 in Lannenbach (Lanersbach), Tyrol, Austria.  

        Mathaus (Mathys) married Margareth Weiland.

        Mathaus (Mathys) and Margareth had two sons:

       1.   Bartholomew Fankhauser - born about 1796.  Bartholomew immigrated to America in the 1850s.

       2,  Johannes Fankhauser - born May 5, 1799.    Johannes immigrated to Australia.

NOTE:  There may be more children for Josef  and for Mathaus (Mathys).  We just know of the ones mentioned in the above information.

Here is how you can help:

       Please help us find descendants of Bartholomew Fankhauser.  Bartholomew's descendants may have information which would tie his family with Johannes family in Australia.  Bartolomew's family may also have ancestral information on the Fankhausers in Austria that will tie the Austrian Fankhausers to the Switzerland Fankhausers.  That would be the real treasure to find!!

       Do you have a Bartholomew Fankhauser in your line?

       Will you search for the name Bartholomew Fankhauser? ...names are used over and over in families............do you know of a Fankhauser family who has the name Bartholomew used as a first name?  This might be a clue which may lead to more information.
