John's Grandfather was Ulrich Fankhauser who was born April 2, 1865 at Rothenbach, Kanton Bern, Switzerland. John's Father was Johanns Fankhauser who was born June 4, 1894 in Rushville, Nebraska.
John's sisters, Lorraine Fankhauser Hineman, Ruth Fankhauser Deckard, and brother Ed Fankhauser toured Switzerland in 1995. Ed's wife, Jeanie also toured with them. Sister, Irene Fankhauser had visited Switzerland at an earlier date. John has 10 siblings.
