Griffin is an activist type who came to town as Marcus' father. It was soon revealed that Gilly Grant was the product of an affair between Griffin and Gilly's mother, Vivian. Only Gilly was becoming attracted to Griff in one of the yukkiest plots ever. After the truth came out, Alan Spaulding spilled the story to the tabloids, tarnishing his reputation. To rebuild it, Griff had himself shot, only to later confess when Vivian was charged with attempted murder. Griff is now helping Blake with her divorce, as he somehow has a law degree.
