Jada's Info

Jada Pinkett Picture Gallery!!

Up Close and Personal...

The scars on Jada Pinkett's knuckles attest to her penchant for drama at an early age. "Oh, I had to scrap," she says, waving an arm in the air, "because I had long hair and light skin. I fought boys, girls, anybody. But I had two rules: I would never start a fight, and I would never fight over a man."

Now 23 and in increasing demand as an actress, Pinkett started writing her own rules as a kid. Raised in a middle-class Baltimore neighborhood, she was taught by her mother and grandmother "to think I was a leader, never a follower, right from the giddy-up." Being a take-charge kind of gal seems to have paid off. After spending two years on the NBC sitcom A Different World, Pinkett has lately been attracting attention for her work in feature films such as Menace II Society and The Inkwell. She has two major (and very different) roles: as an incurable romantic who changes a young man's life in Jason's Lyric, and as a loud-mouth cop in the Keenen Ivory Wayans comedy A Low Down Dirty Shame.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Pinkett is currently designing her own fashion line and will soon be directing a rock video. Where does she get the time? "You have to sacrifice a lot, especially in the area of relationships," she says. She is now dating rapper and acting star Will Smith. She implies that the two are having so much fun and that she just love having him there to talk not only as a companion but as a friend. "Not that I mind being alone, but the thing is, I love men. I mean, I really love men. Unfortunately, it seems that guys are kind of intimidated by me. I can understand that, because it takes a strong man to deal with me. But that doesn't mean I'm giving up. Hell, no! Bring 'em on!" Well it looks like she didn't give up because her and Will makes a good couple.

Her Latest is SET IT OFF which comes out in October I believe. JADA PINKETT (Menace II Society), QUEEN LATIFAH ("Living Single"), VIVICA FOX (Independence Day ) and newcomer KIMBERLY OLDHAM star as four women who try to overcome their adversities as they empower themselves through crime. A film about the ultimate series of bank heists, Set It Off is directed by award-winning filmmaker F. Gary Gray (Friday) and co-stars Blair Underwood, Clarence Williams III, and John C. McGinley.
