SHAKESPEARE SET IN SCENE FOR THE TECHNO-GENERATION

The story is known and yet it was newly written with this great movie. Romeo, the Montague's only son, and Juliet, the daughter of the Capulets', fall in love at a fancy-dress ball - but their love stands under an imaginably unlucky star. Verona Beach is scene of numerous robberies, shoot-outs and assassination attempts. And apart from that, the world isn't completely in order, either. The two most powerful households of the coastal metropolis have been hostile for generations, and Juliet has been promised by her father to another man and is thus shortly before getting married. An old friend of Romeo's, Father Laurence, nevertheless manages to marry the lovers in a secret ceremony. But when Romeo is attacked by the deceitful catchpol and Capulet-nephew Tybaltat the nightly beach, there is a brutal duel. Romeo slays his opponent and has to flee. In a passionate wedding night he wants to say good-bye to Juliet.....
