I am extremely upset with the direction that the Beast Wars is heading. I'm in full agreement with the comments made by J. J. The show is going from and awesome 3D marvel to a two bit cross between road runner and Toy Story. If this was the way it was goi

All of the following information can be found on the site, Malin Net:Beast wars. I have read the news on this Beast Wars site and the future of the Beast wars show does not look good. A statement dated 10/21/98 has been issued by Bob Foward stating that t
is will the last season of this Beast Wars show. Although it is to late to close all to loose threads,the last episode of season has been revised to bring a sense of closure. According to what this site says, another Beast Wars will take it's place which
s supposed to be titled "Beast Wars: Generation 2" and will air on Fox during the 1999-2000 season and will be developed by Marv Wolfman. The show is supposed to also be by Mainframe. The difference? More humor, less complicated stories, and no more conti
uing story arcs. The new show apparently is geared for younger children and it seems it will rely more on selling toys than telling the interesting stories seen on the current Beast Wars show, as seeing Bob Foward and Larry DiTillio will not be involved i
it. There probably will be no more references to the original Transformers as well, as this new show sounds like nothing more than a half-hour toy commercial. Is there any real need for this? Both the show and cartoon are doing great, and this seems so u
called for. If this all comes to pass,(which it probably will)it will be pretty sad to watch. Hopefully the show will be better than it sounds, because it is good stories that will sell the the toys in the end.

I hated Beast Wars when it first came out simply because it was too vastly different from my generation's original Transformers. But now that I look back, the animation for the orig show sucked exhaust, and when the computer animation became practical for
producing cartoons--this, Beast Wars, is what I always envisioned Transformers could have been if the technology had existed. I still think CGI looks too shiny, too boxy, character movement is still too stiff, and objects never seem to have weight, but Be
st Wars is a very well-written show (with the exception of the often-corny dialogue) and the characters are well-defined as well (although the voice talent for certain characters tends to be a little annoying). My biggest hang-up initially was that Optimu
Prime had a freakin' mouth, and I could never tell when the storyline took place (in addition to having many other questions as well), but I finally began to watch the show simply because I know they're never going to bring the original show back...and R
ttrap amuses me. I know have all but a few episodes on tape, and I've even begun collecting the toys.
I hope it stays on the air for a long, long time.
