Friends
By Freni Jane

For years I've waited for a true friend;
One who's nice and sweet,
One who will accept my strengths and weaknesses,
And be happy for what I am.

I asked God for a friend,
And He gave me not just one but two;
They're always there for me,
Though I haven't really met them personally.

Now I found what I was looking for,
Perfect friends for life;
They treat me with love and care,
And always worry for my safety.

I wish that someday we'll meet,
And enjoy each others company;
Reminisce what we've been chatting about,
Celebrate the friendship we made.

Deep Blue Sea

For what I know
You don't like what you see,
So for you I give the gift of creativity.
So now you can see what I say,
By closing your eyes for a sec of a day.
When you're done then you will finally see,
What I'm making it seem to be.

Still it seems you haven't seen,
The gift I'm sharing to this very human being.
A charming one at that
But unknown as it seems.
Will the day come you can see what I finally mean?

You'll never know how I think
But as you read you begin to think of me,
In a way your mind can see
Who it is you're thinking you wanna see.
All I can say is for that to happen
You'll have to look so far down and beneath the sea,
Where I stay is with my heart
In a place I know I'll never be apart.

So when I am happy
I see the water is blue.
For my tears I feel so good for you.
It's all very true and now it's said,
But what to expect you haven't said.
So now I drift away and alone
In the deep blue sea where I'm all alone.

Beauty Of A Lasting Friendship
By Doris Ann Sjoblom

Fifty some years ago, yet it seems like yesterday,
A teen-aged girl came to town desiring to learn.
She left her home, many miles to the east, to live
In a primitive room boasting a wood-burning stove.
Her landlady was very old and rather eccentric,
But the cost of accommodations was crucial.
The location was near school, which was handy.
Her Freshman year was before her that Fall.
Having come from a Swedish family, the girl
Met another Swedish lass who lived in the town.
The two girls together had a wonderful time
Even making fudge on that old wood-burning stove.
When summer arrived, and the girl returned home,
She invited the friend to spend some days on the farm.
They enjoyed having hiking and fishing in the creek.
The girl from the town even tried milking a cow.
Years later the early-days friends met now and then
They had graduated together from high school in 1941.
Just remembering the fun they had shared long ago
Was the joy of the beautiful thoughts that returned.
