Although the Romans did not invent crucifixions they perfected it as a form of torture and capital punishment that was designed to produce a slow death with maximum pain and suffering..

So what difference does it make-if God proves his existence to you and by what means then can you be convinced?...

To fellowship with a Holy God-you must be Holy yourself otherwise that would mean that this God is not so Holy after all.

It entered my mind-" what is wisdom if you so easily cast it aside as a worthless object when giving in to temptation?"..

With globalisation and European law entering into participating European countries there are many laws and values unique to individual countries being overridden by conflicting rules and regulations that have to be abided by participation of national governments in the European institution.

If God comes to live in a person and this is a reality for Christians how can there be a necessity for faith in God from then after.

Oh you doubting Thomas! do you live by faith or rely on other peoples opinions?

I'm really fed up with myself that I defended my printed Bible as Gods word. One of the frequent retorts I kept giving was is it impossible for God to enable the Bible to be brought to us 2000 years unchanged?

This study starts off by condemning the marketing techniques of the organised church having done so then goes on to reinforce marketing techniques in the church under the guise of spiritual unity great! this stuff makes me puke!

Hebrews Verse 1 is saying that God has throughout history and in various ways made known to his people that he is their father and this can be seen in the likeness of pieces of a jigsaw puzzle put together to which makes this point.

Its meant to be hard its all part of Gods plan if you endure the answers will come you may already know the answer anyhow.

If even you disagree with me regarding the name of the son you must admit these ere questionable discrepancies.

I don't think it is Gods intention for me to view his love as an alarm bell at which I flee for safety but what does he expect?

Chapter one-The Gust
UP WITH THE RANKS OF THE QU'RAN HERE IS MY FAKE HOLY BOOK

Quite a lot recently I have been thinking over the time when I will meet the Lord face to face. So many things have passed through my mind

The question involved moral physical positions in the act of making love. After a minute of hysterical laughter

Most people detest me even at the mention of my name-the majority burn with anger and resentment and bitterness.

My vicar once gave me his white Holy collar to aid me in prayer he is a wonderful Holy and sacred man.

Save Our Planet!
Who's planet?
Quite an assumption to say our planet! who said it was ours?

A fake pair of scales is disgusting to JHVH: a genuine plummet is delightful

Let us begin with me. I am white I am racist but I am not a racist .

Many Christians today are Spiritually fat off the blessings in Christ.

Respect for authority generally and respect for the ministerial office in particular is much reduced.

Sin is defined by the Law of God which was given to Moses by God.

Whether we care to admit this or not-the fact remains that we are slaves.

So are you contemplating suicide?
Basically to put suicide in a box..

How long I wonder till the time arrives when political correctness becomes Law and the preaching of Christianity becomes an act of terrorism in the eyes of the Law.

This subject came to mind this morning as my wife was picking a cd from our collection to play on her journey to work.

For the most part in religions trials and tribulations are seen as a test of God. Generally the thinking in this is that God wants to see how faithful we are

How can I reconcile the promises of God with what I see around me in the world today? How can I believe in something I can't even see?

Dear Moe,
I'd like to say before we go on, that in my replies it is not my intention to defend my God, but only to expand on things about him spoken of from the Bible.
This does not mean that I will not answer your questions which would now provoke such a response, but that I wish you to know that I do answer but from the heart of wishing you to gain the same knowledge that has been freely given to me, and not to justify God.
Taking the whole point which in essence is "Judging God"

For many years I had a similar argument between my Lord and ALLAH, and the basis as with you was taking the moral character of the God of Israel and the God of Islam and making comparisons.
As I studied the Qu'ran I discovered lots of terrible and awful things about the God ALLAH, but yet at the same time I remembered things done of the true God mentioned in the Bible which were not entirely different from the supposed deeds of ALLAH.
Now as I have said, for years I had dismissed Islam because ALLAH seemed to be a God of war and violence, and Jesus well...he was rather passive by comparison and this is where my thinking had stopped.
So the answer was easy, ALLAH is a God of violence, Jesus is a God of peace.

Then one day I had a "wake up call" and the truths that I have always known concerning Jesus in his pre-existence and the things he had done which are recorded in the Old Testament, just tapped me on the shoulder and said "isn't this similar to the deeds of ALLAH?
At that moment I was presented with the bare facts that on one hand said ALLAH commands Muslims to kill infidels at Jihad and on the other a God that tells Israel to go into neighboring nations and slaughter man, woman, child, beast until nothing living was left.

My whole argument of the morality of my God being better than the God of Islam collapsed.

My mistake was not -just the seemingly obvious (not taking the full facts into consideration) it was that I was judging on the basis of human morality.

As a Christian I am commanded by the Bible to view "good" as being defined as "the will of God", in other words if something is to be considered good then it must be only by the virtue of the fact that it is Gods will.
An example would be "IF" God told me to steal one hundred pieces of silver from my mother, that then to not steal from my mother would be evil, for good is defined by Gods will, and not by my own sense of morality.

There is a example of this in the Bible with Cain and Abel, God commanded Cain and Abel to bring a sacrificial offering to him consisting of a slaughtered animal.
Abel went out and slaughtered an innocent animal then brought it back as an offering, Cain however thought that it would be better to not kill an innocent animal and bring some nice vegetables and fresh fruits instead-which he did and brought back as his offering.
God in response to these was pleased with Abel but displeased with Cain and rejected Cains' offering.
You see, Cain rested on his own morality and judged that killing was not good and in effect he put his own morality above Gods -this is called self-righteousness.
Abel also considering that killing was not a good thing according to his own morality, put his moral beliefs "second" to Gods will and killed the animal-and so honoured God.
Abel then has viewed Gods will as being the definition of "good."
Cain then has viewed Gods will as being the definition of "less than good."

Now I'm not making comparisons with you but only with the argument that you are representing, when you make a call as to who is better -Lord Buddha or Lord God Jesus, your basis of judgment is your own basis of morality upon which you compare the two, however my basis is Gods will according to the Bible and never the twain shall meet.

What this all means is this;
It is a "dead end" or a "bottomless pit" if you try to understand the law of physics with a bucket of ice cream.
It is simply nonsensical if you try to understand the morality of God without considering God as the basis of morality.
However I do agree with you on the basis of Buddhism that the God of the Bible is evil.

An "explanation only" to deemed "Character defects" of God, and not justification of the verses you have mentioned.

Seeing as you have only used the verses from the Old Testament I will start from there.

The Bible consists of two main books-The Old Testament and The New Testament.
Testament means agreement- will- contract- covenant.
You can say old covenant, old will, old contract, old agreement.
You can say new covenant, new will, new contract, new agreement.

It was Gods intention to lay out the full circumstances as to why he did not dwell with mankind upon the Earth.
This he did firstly by proving beyond all doubt his existence and his power.
He then having established this went on to show mankind that life itself was to be lived in service to God.
Lastly, God wanted the seriousness of his will (being the purpose of life) to be felt.
Underlying these reasons was a consistent plan, this plan was to bring mankind into the knowledge of their sin and the consequences of sin to them and to God himself.
This he did by instituting over 960 laws that were to be obeyed everyday and all the days of a mans life, and if even one law was broken then all were considered broken in Gods view-and the law breaker was declared a sinner.
As to the consequences of a law breaker (sinner) it ranged between capital punishment and corporal punishment, and ultimately eternal punishment.
Back again to the consistent plan, God always provided an escape from punishment which was found in making sacrifices with innocent blood, for though God is a God of justice he is also a God of mercy.

This whole covenant-will-contract-agreement eventually came to an end, but why?
The purpose had been fulfilled, the knowledge and reality God had intended for mankind to know -their sin and the consequences of.....was known.

The result of all this should have been that the Jews were "humble" knowing their place before God and the guilt of their inability to follow the many laws to perfection or the failing of keeping that Old contract/testament.

So God arrives upon the Earth his preparation has been done, but he finds not a humble people but a proud people who had taken his laws and formed a religion out of it -making their own laws above Gods laws.
Nevertheless Jesus decided to finish what he had started and became the sacrifice for ALL SIN, and made the offer of forgiveness through his sacrifice -to all people of the world and not just the Jews.

Given the seriousness of sin itself -its destructive effects, God was likewise serious as to his dealings with it, but what shouldn't be missed in all these things is that God has at all times been going along with one purpose - and that being to end the division between man and God, because God loves man and hates sin and its effects.

Glancing at Buddhism and with the view of having had a Buddhist friend for quite a long period time, it is "self centered" I don't mean this in a purely moral judgmental sense but in its practical application.

Buddhism is seeing the physical world as evil and the spiritual world as good.
There are two ways to attain spirituality
1, To separate oneself from all physical influence.
2, To absorb all physical influences until they become meaningless and of no effect.

When you say that Buddha had given up anger wrath jealousy because they are negative emotions, you neglect to mention that ANY emotion is a negative which includes the whole spectrum of human emotions like love.
You see Buddhism is getting free from physical restraints and ideas, love is hate, hate is love, pain is pleasure, pleasure is pain, and all these physical experiences are chains that bind you from living in the spiritual realm which is Nirvana.
When I think over Buddhism, I see that nothing really exists, there is no good or bad -it is as the same, and so if a Buddhist was surprised or horrified by the idea of a judgmental God -I would have to assume that particular one has just begun the journey of Buddha and does not correctly present the thinking of Buddhism.
