Qui-gon is a jedi master. He travels the galaxy with his apprenticeObi-Wan Kenobi and protects the galaxy. Qui-gon hardly ever agrees with the jedi council despite the danger. While he was on tatooine he met a boy (Annikan) with more midiclorians than yoda. Qui-gon takes him before the jedi concil and the jedi concil doesn't want Qui-Gon to teach the boy because he has to much fear and anger. Qui-gon later gets killed by DARTH MAUL and tells OBI-WAN to train Anikan.
