The Story of Titanic

On the 12 of April, 1912, the ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic set off on her maiden voyage. It was the pride and joy of the white star line. At the time, it was the largest and most luxurious liner ever built. It was deemed 'unsinkable', 'the ship of dreams'.

In the early hours of April 15, 1912, the world changed. The maiden voyage of 'the ship of dreams' ended in a nightmare beyond comprehension and the faith of mankind was destroyed forever by one mans greed and being over sure of himself. The ship carried over 1,500 inocent people to their death in the ice cold waters on the North Atlantic Ocean.

James Cameron retells the story in one of the most compelling movies of the century. It is an epic, action-packed romance between Rose DeWitt (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Rose was an upper class 17-year-old American who was being sufficated by her mother and expectations of Edwardian society. When they got to New York, she was to marry Cal Hockley (Billy Zane). She could not handle it. The pressure gets to her that much that one night, she goes out to throw her self over the back of the boat. She wanted to kill herself. Jack sees her and stops her from doing it.

That is the start of their forbidden love and their powerful mystery that ultimately echos through time to the present. Nothing on earth could come between them....
