Mission Impossible 2
Well there are rumours that Dean Cain, Halle Berry, or even Chow Yun Fat might join the cast. But keep in mind - that's all they are is rumours.
The King & I
Andy Tennant (Ever After, Fools Rush In, It Takes Two) has signed on as director for this Chow Yun Fat film. At least he's finally got his hands on a cool movie to direct. But if you look at what he's previously done, he seems to be getting progressively better.
New Bond Flick
Well I refuse to believe this rumour until I meet Ewan Macregor and he tells me himself, or this movie comes out - whichever comes first. Cinescape reports that he just may be the new bond villain.
Mefisto in Onyx
This is sam jackson's latest project. He's star as a prisoner who can jump into other's minds, and does so with the mind of a serial killer on death row. But they still need themind of a director cuz they don't have one yet.
Latest Update - August 24, 1998 8:16 PM
American Beauty
Coming Attractions reports that Kevin Spacey is close to signing on to this flick about a man who is depressed and then decides to make decisions like a teenager, and thus falls in love with his teenage daughter's best friend. Creepy.
End of Days
CA also reports that Jean-Claude Van Damme's people are trying to get him the role of the devil in arnie's flick. Supposedly, this is because his popularity lately has been dwindling. Firstly, this ain't gonna happen - and it's precisely because he doesn't have the clout. And secondly, I gained more respect for him for (don't laugh) Double Team, and Knock Off. And it's not just for working with Tsui Hark cuz he worked with one of my other favorite Hong Kong directors and that's Ringo Lam, but I thought that movie was shit.
Lord of the Rings
Many, many sites report that New Line is giving Peter Jackson $130 million to make 3 flicks based on "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". There is a God.
American Psycho
Mr. Showbiz reports that leo Dicrapio has backed out of this flick. This really pisses me off. I love him as a bad guy. Leo, buddy, instead just thinking about the pimply faced teenage girl fans, what about us film geeks who respect your body of work? Huh? What about us?

Mission Impossible 2
Dougray Scott (Ever After, Twin Town) joins the cast of this (hopefully) John woo-directed sequel. He's gonna play some kinda bad dude.
The 13th Warrior
The release date for this flick has been moved to '99. Crap.
Austin Powers 2
Heather Graham has been rumoured as cast as Felicity Shagwell. Well, I can say that the casting sounds right so far. I'll see any flick with "Roller girl" in it.
The Haunting of Hill House
Jan De Bont has signed to direct this remake of the Robert Wise-directed original about a group of people who get together in an old house to see if there's a ghost in it. I don't know about this one.
Bob the Gambler
Neil Jordan has signed on to write and direct this remake of Jean Pierre Melville's "Bob le Flambeur". If the french version is anywhere near as good as Melville's "Le Samourai", then Jordan better be bringing something new to this remake. The last thing we need is for him to pull a van sant. bEtter yet go and freaking remake a movie with flaws, a movie that needs to be fixed.
Being John Malkovich
Orson Bean and Mary Kay Place have joined of this flick directed by Spike Jonze.
Scooby Doo
Supposedly Mike Myers has also signed on to play Shaggy. This could be right….
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
This action/comedy is Mike Myers' newest project where he's gonna play Gong Show host chuck barris. I used to watch that show. 'Member "the unknown comic"? anyways the flick is based on barris' memoirs where he writes that his job on the show was just a cover for his real identity - a CIA assassin. Sounds perfect for myers.

(I'm absolutely shattered - just quickies today folks)
morbidity of the soul
this is the sequel to silence of the lambs. And yes mr. Hopkins is returning. No word yet on miss foster's situation.
Mask of zorro 2
Antonio banderas says he will return for a second installment if martin campbell returns as director.
Ronin
The acclaimed director of pi, darren aronofsky (which I haven't seen but looks so damn cool), is set to write & direct a flick about a 13th century samurai who gets a 2nd chance and is transported to 21st century ny. Or something like that.
Deep blue sea
Ll cool j, and michael rapaport have joined the cast of this action flick.
Detox
Sly stallone has signed on to this flick about cop who's going into rehab and patients are getting pegged off, and it's gonna be directed by jim gillespie (I know what you did last summer).

scream 3
kevin williamson says he's gonna finish the script by next april. It may have neve campbell in it, it may not. I know that she's worried about what it'll do to her career. But as a fan, we'll see her in just about anything she does. As long as it's not the next installment in the home alone series, if you catch my drift.
Eye of the beholder
This flick is sounding cooler and cooler by the minute. It stars ewan macgregor, ashely judd (as his chick), and jason priestley as some kinda blond-haired psycho. I read about some scenes involving heroin, and cars going into frozen lakes. Besides that lad from trainspotting doesn't make bad movies.
Brokeback mountain
This could be gus van sant's next flick after his psycho remake. Rumour is that he wants m,att damon and ben affleck but this time to play gay cowboys who battle indians by day and make out by night or something like that. Hopefully they're too busy to make this movie. I love GVS but what is he thinking these days? I mean, didn't he direct a hanson video recently?
The space man
No clue what this project is about, but I read that it's a sci-fi buddy comedy for the farrelly brothers. Let's get some casting going on this thing.

superman reborn
nick cage reveals that the reason that wb pulled the plug was because the script wasn't ready. He says he really wants to do it still. I say what does he care - he still makes $12 mil either way. That's a smashing good deal.
Spider man & avatar
Cinescape on-line reports that both of these flicks will have characters that are completely cgi. I don't know if that's good for spidey. But then again it could be. Either way it'll be cool to see.
Frankenstein
This is universal's new update on the shelley book, and it's gonna be completely cgi. Including human characters. These guys just may beat cameron to the punch. I have a good vibe about this project.
July 18, 1998 1:34 am
lake placid
brendan gleeson has joined the cast of this crocodile flick along with bridget fonda, and oliver platt. Is this gonna be another anaconda, cuz if so I'll be first in line.
Scooby doo
Well if you can believe it mike myers is apparently writing the screenplay for this live action update of the cartoon. All I can say is, "zoiks!" I'd like to know in what way he is qualified. Kevin smith, who was orginally gonna write it I could understand. Not that myers couldn't do a good job cuz I dug austin powers, but I hold that 12 sandwich eating dog close to my heart.
Point of view
Some sad news - I guess tom cruise is picking this flick over mission possible 2 as his next project. Sad because when is his pairing with john woo gonna happen now, if ever? By the way, anybody know what the heck his next project is gonna be now? I know he's got stuff in the works, but what next? Email me and lemme know. I've been checking all the sites, but to no avail.

I'm damn tired so these updates are gonna be quick fast like a bunny.
(don't ask.)
stuck
mgm shut down this farelly bros. Flick
monomoke
miramax has picked this anime flick up for a north american release for a possible summer 98 date. This was the highest grossing flick in japan before titanic came out. They've also got some big name stars to redo the voices in english: Claire danes as the voice of san, minnie driver as the voice of eboshi, and gillian anderson as the voice of moro.
Sea wolf
This is ron howard's next flick after ed tv. Nick cage has signed on to star.
The legend of Sleepy hollow
Johnny depp and christina ricci are pretty close to signing. Depp is gonna play "a tormented" icabod crane, and ricci is gonna have the female lead, a character named katrina van tassel.
Deep blue sea
Samuel l. jackson has joined the cast of this action flick to be directed by renny harlin. Stellan skarsgard also stars in this story of humans battling genetically-enhanced sharks.
Entrapment
Ving rhames has joined the cast alongside sean connery, and katherine zeta-jones in this heist flick.
Bringing out the dead
Ving rhames has also joined the cast of this paul schrader-scripted, scorsese-directed flick alongside nick cage.

Houdini
Well, some new info on this tom cruise vehicle. Verhoeven is out, and ang lee is possibly in. I'm not sure if he's actually right for this film. But then again who thought the zucker brothers would do a drama?
Planet of the apes
Filming on this remake could begin late this year or early next year with a late summer 99 or early summer 2000 release date. And cameron is still producing and writing. This guy is so versatile.
Superman lives
Nick cage was being interviewed on access hollywood the other day and he said that this project is not dead after all. Who knows - we might get to see him in tights after all.
Snake eyes
Word has it that de palma was not impressed at test screenings with the whole hurricane thingy so he scrapped the whole idea. Pretty expensive scrap.
For the love of the game
No clue whatsoever as to what this flick is about, but it's an upcoming project for kevin "build it and they will come" costner. Who cares you say? Well it's gonna be directed by sam raimi. I care.
Modesty blaise
Harry knowles' site reports that this is gonna be tarantino's next flick maybe starring natasha henstridge. Harry thinks maybe michelle yeoh. Sounds good to me. Or how about milla jovovich?
July 14, 1998 6:56 pm
Backcountry
Yes folks, that's a roger - arnold schwarzenegger is considering yet another flick. This time it's backcountry, a story about some kinda cop chasing down some redneck jimbo survivalist who's pegging off national park visitors. Sounds gravy.
Sleepy hollow
Now if this project doesn't have drool written all over it - I have no freaking idea what does. Written by andrew kevin walker and directed by tim burton. I mean c'mon people please. Not to mention that these folks are now pursuing brad pitt, liam neeson, daniel day lewis, and possibly kevin spacey to play the lead. Supposedly this film picks up where the original story left off, and it's gonna be 'r' rated with lots of blood and gore. Yummy.
Armageddon director's cut
When released to video, this flick's gonna have extra scenes including harry (willis) saying goodbye to his pops played by lawrence tierney, and some more funny improv moments from steve buscemi that were cut out of the flick.. can't hardly wait. Not sarcastically, seriously.
Bless the child
This is the new project from the director of "the mask" (loved it) & "eraser" (didn't see it & it didn't really do anything for me). It's a story about 3 generations of chicks who are connected to a prophecy that foretells a coming apocalypse. Could have some potential.
00-soul
tom dey, a guy who's been directing commercials, is going to make his feature debut with this new spy spoof starring chris tucker. Tucker is going to play spy "William soul" who is hunting down a rogue agent who's boss is now a terrorist who is trying to bring the u.s. down. Mariah carey is going to make her film debut alongside tucker (hubba hubba). Production begins in october. Dey was originally gonna direct bad boys 2 but I guess that fell through.

resident evil & a fourth living dead flick
harry knowles' site reports that tha infamous george a. romero is going to direct a 4th installment immediately after finishing the flick that's based on the game resident evil. Maybe I'll put this new dead flick on my resume like a now famous director did with one of the other ones.
snake eyes
the new website is up.
Check it out. All I got the last time I was there was this nifty pic of the well-dressed mr. Nick cage.
the hollow man
this is rumored to be paul verhoeven's next project. It's written by andrew marlowe (imdb has no listing for him). Anyways, it's about a dude who has some crap happen to him that makes him "translucent". Doesn't sound that kool, but then again it's verhoeven.
Email me what you think.x-men
I just about creamed my pants when I heard about this little piece of movie news. X-men has a new writer. Guess who? It's the one and only creator of keyser soze - chris mcquarrie. Now there's some news that's kool & the gang.
Stuck on you
This may be old news but this is the farrelly bros. Next project. I'll watch anything these guys do. This can-humour filled project is about siamese twins & one of them wants to become a "hollywood hot shot".
July 13, 1998 2:58 am
cinescape on-line had some cool info today:
charlie's angels
it seems that jenny mccarthy, michelle yeoh, & jada pinkett have all been cast. With the exception of mccarthy (I've never actually seen her act before), this sounds pretty darn kool & the gang to me. Not to mention the fact that the makers are planning to keep the 70's setting - even cooler. Shooting is expected to start at the end of this year with a release date for late 99.
Psycho
Now is it me or does this project have blasphemy written all over it? I like gus van sant (drugstore cowboy is one of my faves), but c'mon. anyways, cinescape reported that robert forster has joined the cast as the psychiatrist that diagnoses the main character. Rita wilson (tom hanks' wife) has been cast as anne heche's co-worker. I don't know if I'm experiencing excitement or rage.
