The team that made DHIL; Vikram,Vidyasagar & Dharani Has come together again to craete another superhit movie with DHOOL.The movie has all the elements of a sucessfull movie with equal proportions of action, love and fast paced music. The movie is also fast paced and action packed with no room for setiments right from start to the end of the final credits.
The movie starts by showing a group of youngsters trying to bomb a factory that is pouluting their vilage's river Arumugam(Vikram) stops them from doing so and suggest that they go and see the Minister Kalipandi who is from thier cositiuency to forward him a pettion to shut down the factory by getting sign from the whole village. Arumugam a school dropout is assigned to do the job alongwith Easwari (Jyothika) an educated village girl and her grandmother (Paravai Muniamma). The three soon leave by train to Chennai. There they take an auto to a friend's place on the way they come across a group of rowdies trying to kill someone the auto driver drives away due to fear.They then reach thier friend Narren's house in a colony. Narren (Vivek) is a goverment employer is also from thier village. Arumugam Easwari & patti go tho Minister Kalaipandi's (Shayagi Shinde) house there they learn that then minister is about to leave to Dehli. They however managed to meet the minister and submit the pettion. The minister promise to look into the matter after four days.
Meanwhile, Arumugam meets a beautiful & sexy Remma Sen a resident of the colony who is admired by all, and she is impessed by arumugam physic at first sight. Easwari then suggest to remma to speak english to arumaugam to impress him. Arumugam being a school dropout who is weak in english tries to hide that fact. Soon reema finds out and offers to teach arumugam some english. This english lesson in reema house(which is a little vulgur) makes easwari a sligtly jeloues.On the other hand the rowdies headed by Swarna Akka a lady dada boss kills someone on the train an someone who wittness this complain to the minister after hearing this the minister kills the witnees and then goes out to meet Swarna Akka and her gang and we learn that he is a corrupt and assciates with the gang.The minister promise to make Swarna Akka a MP. The rowdies then create havoc in the colony area and closses shops there easwari is locked in a tailors shop and arumugam comes to save her he fights and free easwari and stops the rowdy from shlashing easwari with a knife by grasping the rowdies hand and breaking it. Arumugam, eawari and pati the go and see he minister in his office at the same time swarna gang are also at the place. However the rowdies missed to see arumugam. Aruguman then goes ahead to meet the minister and the minister promise to send a letter to the revelent department and order them to seal the factory.At the election time easwari geos to election center to meet Narren to get a key at the election center which is controlled by swarna and her gang to cast phontom votes(so that swarna akka can win). The rowdies the try to molest easwari and arugmugam comes to save her by bashing the rowdies up and handing them to police and he the "signs" a empty complain form with his thumbprint and informs the police officer of the rowdies wrongdoings and ask the officer to fill up whatever he wants on the form. The sincere police officer then arrest the rowdies and beat them up. Arumugam eawari and patti again go to the minister office but the minister who is now tensed refuse to see them when the three was about to leave the minister learn that arumugam is responsible for the complain and aresst of the rowdies from swarna akka and the minister quickly calls him back to the office. Arumugam tells easwari and her grandmother to get ready to go back to thier village and he proceeds to see the minister alone. There the minister treathens arumugam to pull back his complain or risk losing the order to seal the factory. then only he know that the minister is a corrupt and he has connections with the rowdies.At that time the swarna akka and her gang walk in to the office .Arumugam then refuses to pull back his complaint and so the minister tear up the order and the pettion arumugam the gets angry and try to attack the minister but the rowdies beat them up until pases out and get the thumprint from him to pull back his compalint.Arumugam then is thrown in the sewage tank. He somehow manage to get out alive and is treated back to health.Arumugam the goes to see the minister in his house and chanleges him that he will strip him from politics. How arumugam deos that forms the rest of the story.
The movie is well balanced with good fighing scenes, strong dialouge, romance and music. The arguing an quaralling scenes between Vikram and Jyothika are cute and funny. Remma sen only gets to show some flesh as her role is not important. Vivek impress with his comedy esspcially in the scenes where thinks the remma's Cancer Star sign is cancer illness suffered by her. The lady who played Swarna Akka portrays good villan acting sometimes better than male villans. Shayagi Shinde who acted as Bharatiyar in the movie Bharathi, impress with his villan expersions and dialouges. The music is very ubbeat and Fastnumbers . The song ARUVAA MESSAI has some bhangra style of music is very energetic. The Song INTHADI KAPE KALENGEY is also very fast dapangkuttu song.The duet GUNDDU PONNE is influeced by the english song "BARBIE GIRL".Finally the song MADURAI VERRAN where we see the patti PARAVAI MUNIAMMA (an actual folk singer) sings the song alongwith a roadside music troup serves as a background for the climax fighting scene. This idea is new and very creative.Overall the movie is a good entetainer for those who loves to watch a good action packed movie.This movie is another feather in Vikram cap.
