Srikanth and Sneha are again paired in PARTHIBAN KANAVU after ARRIL MATHATHIL. PARTHIBAN KANAVU has a strong storyline with many unexpected suprises and a good sricpt. This is NOT the usual tamil movie it is indeed a very different movie that has a very different story..
Parthiban (Srikanth) is a youth who never last for more than two months in a job. he spends time lazing around the house and watching tv. His father always nags him on his attitude, later finds him a job for in a friends comapny. Parthiban decides to take the job offer joins the company (Satyam Telecoms) as a marketing executive. Since his job require him to do outdoor sales he always hangs out with his friends in a roadside tea stall. One of his friend (Vivek) who is already married also joins the group.
One day he sees a girl (Sneha) and it is love at first sight. Parhiban and his friends later find out where the girl works and his friends promise to help him to collect full details of her. Meanwhile, his family arrange a girl for him to get married and his father forced him to come along to meet the girl, Parhiban is reluctent to follow his parents but later agrees to go after his grandfather advise him that he can say he deosen't like the girl after seeing her.Parhiban and his family the goes to Manikam's (Manivanan) house. Manikam calls his daughter Satya to come out. When Satya comes out Partiban is suprised to see that this is the girl he use to admire, and Parthiban immediately agrees for the marriage. He then tells his friends what happeneed and they congartulate his for his success in getting married to the girl he loves. Parthiban then tells his friends that he wants to find out his future brides likes and dislikes and suprise her on thier wedding day. But on his wedding day he is the one who was suprised and shocked........ After the wedding, Parthiban and his wife Satya get on a jeep to go to thier new house. while waiting at a tarffic light juction, Partiban actually sees the girl he admired is crossing the road!......(This is where the story takes an unexpected twist) What happens next forms the rest of the story
All the charecters are potrayed very well by the director. They all bahave in a very natural manner. Srikanth potrays his role very well. He naturally acts out his attitude on his job and his views on romance.Sneha potray two very different personalities and she makes it very beliveable.Manivanan's character is very calm and natural. Vivek is the main comedy highlight for the movie he plays a married man who lies about the situation in his house to his friends raises very funny situations. Everyone in the movie had performed thier best.
The songs by Vidysagar is all very melodiues and most songs are cranatic or clasical based and they are all well picturezied. The song BUCK, BUCK, BUCK is shot is different styles showing different eras in the tamil film industy from the 60's to present. Another song AALAGUYIL is very melodious the song has Srikanth promptimg some words and Sneha explains it by singing. The song KANNA KANDENADI is also a beautiful melodious song. Finally the songs THEERATAA DAM and VAADI MACHINICEE are fast and energetic dapangkuttu and ganna songs.
Overall the movie is a very entertaining and will keep you glued to your seat. With strong unique story,excellent cinematography, superb perormance and woderful songs the movie has all elements of a sucessfull movie. If you are looking for a tamil movie with a difference, Don't miss this one
