Virumbukiren is a movie whch was delayed for two years. The movie ran into financial problem and was almost never to be relaesed. While waiting, its director Susi Ganesan completed and released FIVE STAR But thankfully Virumbukiren which is also Sheha's first movie has finally managed to reach theaters and we finnaly get to see a beautiful village love story.
Sivan(Prashanth), a firefighter, who refuses marriage because his only ambition is to bring up his two younger brothers. When a village is frequently hit by mysterious fires, Prashanth and his firefighting unit, is stationed permanently in the village. There Prasanth meets Thavamani(Sneha), a resident of the village, who has no mother takes care of her two younger sisters she too refuses marriage at first, later falls in love since their sitiations and thier ambitions are simillar.But Thavamani's father (Nasser) who is caste conscious is dead against thier courtship. Nasser hates Sivan since Sivan had himuliated Nasser for wanting to know Sivan's caste.Nasser and his caste people are determine to break up Sivan and Thavamani's relationship.
Sivan one day come to know about the mysterious fire; it is caused by a old man who wants the village people to live in peace and so by creating a crisis the old man thought that the village would come together to put out the flame and continue to live together. Soon the whole village decides to live in peace and that that they don't need the fireman unit in the village anymore. They attack the fire engine and set it ablaze! The fireman team the lives the village and go back to the city.There the Fireman Chief suspends Sivan for negleting his duties causing the fire engine to be burnt down.Meanwhile in the village Nasser comes to know that Thavamani and Sivan are still keeping in touch with each other by reading the letters written by Thvaamni and Sivan. Nasser then quickly look for another man to marry Thavamani, And so Thavamani decide to set fire so that the fireman team will come to put it out and hopefully Sivan will come too. Whether her plan will work forms the climax of the story.
Prashanth gives good performance. Sneha proves all her acting skills right in her first movie itself. Nasser is brilliant as the strict cast conscious father.Eeswari Rao imperess in a supporting role as friend of Sneha. The music are soothing tunes that reflect the village background, but somehow fails to became hits.The village story (which is very rear these days) has a very good screenplay with a strong message of unity is a good entertainer for the whole family.
