Mike's favourite things

You want to know what kind of things Mike likes, from his favourite food to his favourite music. Well take a look at this:

Food:Cuban. If Mike were of, say, Irish descent, his love for Cuban cuisine would mean perhaps that he's drawn to the exotic and the spicy. But the truth is, Mike's cravings are a direct reflection of his Cuban heritage. Though Mike was born in L.A, his food preference shows his devotion to the island his ancestors came from. It also reflects the close bond he has with his grandmother, Mercedes, who is his mum's mum. Mercedes lives with the Vitar family in L.A.. According to her famous grandson, she is an awesome Cuban cook.

Drink: Gatorade. It's really not too surprising that Mike is a Gatorade drinker. It is, as the commercials say, supposed to be one of the best thirst-quenchers around. And with Mike being a super-athletic sort-into baseball, hockey and football, to name but three sports-you can imagine he gets pretty darn thirsty.

School Subject (when he was at school): Math. Some people might automatically assume Mike's affinity for math-especially algebra and geometry-simply means that, well, he's carzy. But not the case. More likely, Mike just happens to be a left-brained thinker.

Colour: Black (and bloody hell does he look good in it). Black is a colour that sometimes conjuries up sort of a brooding image. It's just not a perky shade. It seems that people who wear black all the time are a bit on the intense side, right? Well, after reading about gorgeous Mike, I have no reason to think he's even the slightest bit of a gloomy gus. Nor does he wear black all the time (though it wouldn't be a terrible idea, since it does complement his eyes and hair). Anyway, I feel in Mike's case, his fondness for black could be a reflection of his attraction to things that have a classic, rather than trandy appeal.

Pastime: Sports. Mike is such the jock that he almost didn't want to pursue an acting career-he thought it would take too much time away from his beloved sports. Lucky for us fans, he has managed to pursue both. Mike's love for sports show he's an active guy with lots of energy to burn. He's also a very social person who enjoys being part of a united team.

Non-sports related pastime: Reading. Energetic as Mike is, he also needs time to mellow out. And curling up with a good book is his favourite way to do just that. (I wouldn't mind curling up with him). Besides indicating that he has a quiet side, Mike's love of reading reveals his intelligence, curiosity and interest in other people. In fact, Mike says that the books he likes best are autobiographies.

Movies: Comedy and action/adventure. It makes sense that Mike would gravitate toward comedy movies. Mike is very serious about what he does in his everyday life, whether preparing for a role or playing baseball. So when it comes to entertainment, he'll go not for a tearjerker or a heavy, emotional drama, but for something that's gonna make him laugh-especially if Eddie Murphy happens to star in it. Mike's also pretty adventurous in his personal life (for instance, he's an avid dirtbike rider), so it makes sense that he would totally like the whole action/adventure thing. T2, by the way, is a fave in that genre.

Vacation spot: Cuba. Actually, Mike says his favourite getaway location is Hawaii, because it's a place where he can surf, sail, take helicopter rides and just all-around indulge his adventurous side (imagine escaping to Hawaii with Mike). But his favourite fantasy vacation spot is Cuba. Again, this reflects Mike's dedication to and pride in his heritage. As Mike's older brother, Pablo, tells, the entire Vitar family would love to visit their homeland. However, because of some nasty political stuff going on in that tiny country right now, it would be unsafe for them to visit.

Music: Guns n' Roses, Metallica, Naughty By Nature, (I've seen them in concert, they are unreal), Ice T and Ice Cube (He is a rapping legend to me).When it comes to music, Mike is definitely not an easy listening kind of guy (he is just a hot one instead). It's a good bet you won't find any Barry Manilow CDs in his collection. That would be way to mellow for our Mikey. Nope, Mike prefers performers who grind out music with a masculine edge, a hard beat and a tough rap. This would relect his energy level and the fact that - according to his former manager, Steve Viera - he's perhaps just a smidgeon macho.

Qualities in a girl: Sense of humor, love of adventure and an understanding personality (wow, that sounds just like me). When Mike said what he looks for in a girl, we knew immediately he's seeking for someone like himself. In other words, Mike has all the above qualities. In case you hadn't noticed (which I'm sure you did).
