	Robbie Williams, the former Take That singer, has beaten off competition from people like Maddona to Liam Gallager to be named Pop icon of '98. Good year for me... obviously one for him too. The Young Star, who last year has overcome his drink and drugs problems, gathered critical acclaim and found enormous sales success, topped the poll among music expert, and wowed the girls.... (even this one typing right now). In 1997, Robbie checked into a rehab clinic to takle his addictions after a shaky start to his solo career. But in 1998.... he found sucess with his life through a Lens Album, which became 1998's second best-selling Album; While the follow up, "I've Been Expecting you", went straight to No. 1.
		The Pop Star has spoken out against taking herion after admitting he once snorted the drug. The 24-year-old singer said he had taken herion just once, when his dealer had been unable to supply him with his drug of choice. "it was the worst experience of my life and I can say, hand on heart, that I will never do it again. Herion is evil- nobody should go near it. It was an appaling thing to do." Robbie's words of experience are words of wisdom. The former Take That star has already confessed he was formerly hooked on cocaine. He is currently engaged to All Saints singer Nicole Appleton.
