President's
  Message

   Holiday greetings to all!
1998 has been a special one for the men of Tsarus. I'm sure 1999 hold more great times.
During the past few months, we've kept up our usual busy schedule. During October, we headed north to help our bothers in Gateway celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Later that month, we gathered at the run site to put a new roof on the pavilion. Great work guys!
   Thank you, thank you Paul!
Our November club night was no regular club night. It was a Memphis Leather Reunion. We were thrilled at how many of our brothers and sisters turned out to party with us.
Thank you to everyone who attended. This may grow into one of those annual traditional things.
In December, Santa Joined us for our club night at the Pipeline. He joined us again at the Other Side in Jackson, Tenn.
The man of the year banquet comes up in February, and of course, Aida is on April 30 - May 2!
   See you there! Till then,
   In Brotherhood,

Greg

Moving to a
New Night!

Mark your calendars. Tsarus club nights are now on the Third Saturday of each month, not the first! We're still at the Pipeline, of course.
Hopefully, this will avoid conflicts with New Years Eve, Fourth of July, Labor Day . . .

The Best Kept
Secret in Town

For the 15th tear, Tsarus will honor the Man of the Year for outstanding service to the Gay and Lesbian community in the Memphis Area. Tsarus members are not eligible.
The Man of the Year, which may be a woman or an organization, will be revealed during a banquet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Madison Flame, 1588 Madison Ave. The award will be a surprise to almost everyone including the winner.
Tsarus members cook and serve the entire banquet, which consists of four courses. All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to a charity of the winners choice.
Nominations are open to the community at large, but the Man of the Year is chosen by club members in a closed meeting.
Man of the Year winners are listed on a plaque in the Pipeline.

 Gateway
     Turns
        Silver

by Greg T.

The second weekend of October, the men of Tsarus gathered full force to celebrate Gateway MC's Silver anniversary.
For David and I, the weekend began in turmoil. The motherbeasts big silver Lincoln wouldn't run! I arranged other transportation. crossed my fingers, and took off while he took the car to the shop.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Al and Bunny. We checked in and hung out with John and Rodney. Then we went to Clems to eat and visit with friends Joe and George.
We returned with Patty, ready for the famous Blue Max cocktails. Everyone had arrived while we were gone. . . Everyone except David. Seven o'clock and still no Beast. (Hey Phillis Diller, had her fang. . .)
Mark, our newest pledge, came up to me at the party and inquired in all seriousness, "Where is mother?"
Oh no, it looked as though I would have to carry on all alone . . . in a private room . . . all weekend. How would I manage? :-)
Not to worry, David showed up later that night. (So much for a private room all weekend.)
After many, many cocktails, strange things began to happen. Beaux got cozy with the toilet on the bus, hugging it all the way back to the hotel.
