ML - "Henry, don't you ever sleep ?"

HH - "I ... er ... I have a request from the news people"

ML - "uh huh"

HH - "they're out front here and they want to put a transmitter up on the lawn"

ML - "a transmitter ?"

ML - "I thought they didn't care about this mission, they didn't even run Jim's show"

HH - "well it's more dramatic now, suddenly people are ..."

ML - "well if landing on the moon wasn't dramatic enough for them, why should not landing on it be ?"

HH - "look ... I, um .... I realise how hard this is Marilyn, but the whole world is caught up in it ... it's the biggest story since ..."

ML - "no Henry, those people don't put one piece of equipment on my lawn ... if they have a problem with that they can take it up with my husband, he'll be home on Friday" (684KB) apollo3b.wav

 

Reporter - "what about their level of carbon dioxide ?"

"let me put it this way, their trajectory may be off, their thrusters may be frozen, their guidance system might be malfunctioning, their heat shield could be cracked, and their parachutes might be three blocks of ice ... clearly we have some obstacles to overcome" (279KB) apollo5a.wav

HH - "is the typhoon still present in the splash down area ?"

HH - "we got the ... the parachute situation, the heat shield, the angle of trajectory and the typhoon, there's just too many variables ... I'm a litle at a loss"
