Gee…did I miss something? Oh yeah, he was in The Matrix too. [Huge smile here] Hugo Weaving plays Agent Smith in The Matrix. As I am sure most of you have seen this movie (if you haven't get out of here and go now!) I won't bore you with details…well okay just these details. Agent Smith is a program sent into the Matrix to keep the humans in line so that they (the machines with artificial intelligence) can use our internal heat as a source of energy. One of the things I really liked was the accent Hugo Weaving used. My friends and I have several theories, the first is that the accent is a computer program accent. Maybe that's how Agents talk? The second is that his accent is the accent of an Australian trying to do an American accent. Our third theory is that Mr Weaving is doing some Southern State accent. Being Canadian I'm not familiar with all of the accents our big ol' neighbours to the South use. |

I love the perfect deadpanned expression he used too, especially when he was questioning Neo (played by Keanu Reeves) in the first part of the movie. |
