I observed Scar from afar while he was king of Pride Rock, just before Simba returned. While I had wanted to join Scar at that time, experience has taught me NEVER to approach a pride in times of crisis. I was very impressed with how he held his pride together during the famine, however, and when he recently returned to the lands of his birth I did not hesitate to join him.
The eldest son of Scar and Zira, Kiruu is a little younger than Simba. After the exile of Simba, he grew up thinking he would be the heir of Pride Rock. When Simba returned, Kiruu risked his own life to help defend his father from the hyenas. Thinking he had failed, he disfigured his own face so as to continue his father's legacy. Recently reunited with Scar, Kiruu is now Duke of Scar's Domains.
Kalan is gruff, but very loyal when he chooses to be. The only thing he wants is to be part of a pride and serve. He wants to feel needed. Brought up in a small area near the jungle, his parents were both killed when he was very young. He is not sure how they were killed, but if he finds that they were murdered, he will take revenge. Kalan grew up alone, hunting and wandering near the border of the Outlands.
I was a homeless wandered forever. I learned to hunt and fend for myself. Over time, many people reviled me because of my outlandishness. Then one day I helped Kinaya hunt and met the greatest of all kings, Scar. I have not belonged to his pride long, but I hope to be a great help.
Yes, Balaa's fleas do appear to have a mind of their own. They seem to enjoy jumping out suddenly and attacking anyone who's foolish enough to annoy this homicidal lioness.
Nduli is a large female cheetah of undetermined age (she ain't telling). She's very skilled in many crafts not the least of which include healing ability (the natural kind) and a bit of sorcery picked up from her years of solitary wandering. She 's very gifted in dealing with the other species and although she's not completely good hearted and can be cruel she's able to talk her way out of most scrapes. She lived in the Pridelands under Mufasa's reign (in which she lost her mate) and then Scar's reign later on. She's since found herself in Scar's territory again and has made herself known. Fiercely devoted to Scar's causes and those of his pride she serves as a healer and advisor to Scar.
Merika has been a wanderer for most of her life until she stumbled into Shanaar's Lands. There she resided for a while, but recently has moved on to join Scar and Kinaya's pride. At last, the older lioness is beginning to settle down and enjoy pride life. Merika has a great fear and hatred of hyenas since her parents were murdered by them when she was a young cub. After that event, she had to live on her own and fend for herself, making her a very tough lioness.
Kijeli - the oldest and a very tough little female.
Mvulana - the oldest male, very confident.
Ndiyo - the younger male, he is rather nervous and lacks confidence.
Tahanza grew up as a wanderer after her mother caught a sickness and died. As a cub she would stay with a fellow cub's family in their den, changing places almost every night. She learned to trust other lions very little by the time she was grown up. Tahanza was always on her own, never staying around a fellow lion or lioness for very long at all. Recently, she joined Scar's Domains. She has watched the interaction between the pride members and is finally learning that there is more to life than just hunting and surviving. In Scar's Domains she sees friendships and a powerful pride of lions very similar to herself. She finally feels at home here.
