What made Gone With The Wind so memorable as both a book and picture to so many audiences? Was it the vivacious, stubborn and complex character of Katie Scarlett O'Hara? Was it the dashing Rhett, a man who possessed no honor and was as notorious as Scarlett herself? Let's not forget the kind and selfless gentlewoman Melanie, always putting everyone before herself? Or were people attracted to the world of Ashley Wilkes, a man whose whole way of living ended when the South surrendered to the Union army? But then again, many of us forget what the title actually means. It can refer to many things; the talk about the South falling to it's knees, the wind which swept through the Confederacy, or the relationships between Ashley and Scarlett, Rhett and Scarlett, Melanie and Scarlett, and Ashley and Melanie.

The following pages not only contain interesting information, vivid pictures, and audio and video clips, but also try to analyze both the book and the story as well as the many complex ties and bonds which they introduce us to.
