John Entwistle was the Who's bass player, and is still considered one of the best bassists of all time. He wrote a few of the Who's songs, many of them completely weird (but good), including "Boris the Spider" and "Cousin Kevin" from Tommy. He credits his crazy bass playing in part to Keith Moon, the drummer. Keith was famous for wild drumming, and this would cause John to have to do some wild bass playing just to keep up!
