8 Seconds.  This is a dumb movie about a bull rider named Lane Frost, played by Luke Perry.  It's a true story.   How can a guy from Beverly Hills be a bull rider?    *

The Edge.  Alec Baldwin and Sean Connery star in this pathetic adventure movie about a couple guys whose plane crashes in the Alaskan Wilderness and get chased around by a bear.  It was a total waste of time and very boring.  *

Election.  Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick star in this comedy about a high school election.  Witherspoon plays Tracy Flick a high energy, and over achieving high school student who runs for student council president.  Broderick plays a Social Studies teacher.  Witherspoon is excellent in her role.  The movie was pretty clever but it still had the typical dumb 90's humor that takes a movie that could be really witty and makes it just like the other lame comedies that we've seen lately.  The movie is still amusing and Witherspoon does an excellent job.  ***1/2 

Encino Man.  I haven't seen this one for years, but I remember these kids dig up a caveman played by Brandon Frasier and then teach him the high school scene. Pauly Shore is one of the kids and he is actually funny.  It was entertaining. ***1/4

E.T.  Steven Spielberg's classic (but isn't every Spielberg movie classic? The guy is amazing) about an alien who comes to earth and is is taken in by a couple of kids in California.  A very young Drew Barrymore stars in this movie.  Everyone in the family will like it.  *****
