The "Jerry Springer" show is one of the most popular "Talk Shows" in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world! This position wasn't easy to achieve with the stiff competition of "Oprah Winfrey" and "Ricki Lake" and in the early years of Springer these two shows were way ahead in the ratings!

Then in 1991 along came Richard Dominick now the shows Producer and things turned around dramatically. Continuing to use his early skills as an investigative reporter, writer and director/producer Richard continues to drive the show to greater success and stardom.

Another major factor in the show's success is by tackling hard hitting topics and the outrageous behaviour of guests has kept viewers baying for more and has attributed to the show becoming a sucess worldwide!

This success hasn't come without a price. Due to topics discussed on the show violence and fighting have become common and off duty Police Officers have been recruited to deal with violent outbursts from guests! Sometimes the fighting is so bad that it is editied out with the swearing and occasionally guests are lead off the stage to "cool off" and if this isn't effective they are kicked off the show or even arrested!!

In my opinion the "Jerry Springer Show" is likely to stay ahead of the competition by remaining in its current state. Viewers are likely to "tune in" if they know that there are going to be interesting topics, outrageous guests and the odd fight or two!

I believe the only thing that could endanger the popularity of the show is if the television companies continue to over edit. Over editing makes it difficult at times to follow stories and sooner or later viewers are going to become frustrated and switch off for good!

Editing the show can be avoided by showing it at a later time when youngsters are least likely to be about! It is my belief that "Jerry Springer" will still be the hottest talk show around for a long time if these measures are implemented!
