Spice up your life ... Dane
meets Vic
worldpop: What did you think of each other the first time you
met?
Dane: The first time we met was to say hello at the MOBO
awards. But working together, we pretty much knuckled down and
got on really well. We had a lot of fun doing it and because we
loved the single I think it was a lot easier for us.
worldpop: Have you discovered any annoying habits about each
other along the way?
Victoria: I'll admit mine right now - I pick my nose!
Dane: She does, and she had to admit it because I was
going to say that.
Victoria: What do you do that's really annoying? He just
gets a superstar tantrum every now and again.
Dane: Um, I don't have any bad habits. I don't know what
my bad habits are!
worldpop: What did you get up to on your video shoot for Out
Of Your Mind?
Victoria: It was great fun. Everything around us was really
great, and the director was fantastic. And I think that as much
as we had a lot to prove, so did everybody around us so everybody
was putting in 110%. The dancers were great and it was a good
atmosphere.
Dane: It was a good team, we all had a great time. It was
17 hours a day for two days, but it was good fun.
worldpop: How did you keep yourselves going when you got
tired?
Victoria: Loads of Red Bull!
Dane: I did actually, I had loads of it.
Victoria: We just wanted it to be good so we put in as
much as we could, so that's what got us through. Adrenalin,
ambition, and lots of coffee!
Dane: And we had our families and everyone around us.
Who do you think you are? ... tabloid rumours
worldpop: What's the weirdest rumour you've heard about
yourselves recently?
Victoria: That I'm talentless!
Dane: Apparently in the paper it said that my girlfriend
actually demoed this song first, which wasn't true at all. I
don't know where they got that from.
Victoria :Oh yeah, my mum told me about that yesterday.
The weirdest thing I've heard recently ... oh, I've read before
now that I'm really a man, which was interesting. Someone said
that all the Spice Girls were really men.
Dane: She's really called Victor!
worldpop: You always have your families around you. Do you
make sure that they travel around with you so that you have time
to see them?
Dane: It's pretty difficult when you're really busy to see
your family or your girlfriend or whatever, so it's nice to take
them with you. I think they come because they want to see it
anyway. It's a nice thing for them to come down and watch shows
and support us.
Victoria: We're both really close to our families so it's
nice that they can come down and be with us.
Viva forever ... old friends
worldpop: Victoria, do you still see the rest of the Spice
Girls a lot?
Victoria: Yes, I saw Melanie C today, and I saw the rest of
them yesterday because we were shooting the cover for the new
album. So yeah, I see them quite a lot and I speak to them on the
phone all the time.
worldpop: Dane, do you still see the other Another Level boys?
Dane: I haven't seen them in a while. Mark's just got engaged
so he's getting married soon but I saw him not too long ago. The
other two I haven't seen for a while. I think one of them's been
in America and one's doing some stuff over here but I don't know
what they're up to.
Two become one ... solo albums
worldpop: How are both
your solo albums going?
Dane: Really well. We're both writing with a lot of people
and doing our own writing projects, but hopefully we're going to
get into the studio again and write together. It's going really
well.
Victoria: I've heard his first single and it's fantastic.
Really, really good.
Dane: She's working with Rodney Jerkins.
Victoria: I think both us have been doing a lot with
working on the single and our own albums. We've been working
hard.
worldpop: So you are planning to work together again?
Dane: I think we'll definitely get in the studio and do some
writing. And I'm sure we'll come up with some good stuff!
