Disney's "Kingdom In The Sun"

23rd June, 2000

http://come.to/Kingdom_Sun

Hi, and welcome to my Disney fansite, which is dedicated to Disney's upcoming animated feature, "Kingdom In The Sun".
Sorry again to keep changing the release date of this cool movie, but...according to official announcments, it'll be released on 23rd June, 2000! This means that it'll be competing against Dreamworks Pictures' "Chicken Run", which is quite a risk for Disney to take.
As you know by now, it will feature songs by the legendary Sting. Like in "Tarzan", the songs won't actually be sung by the characters, but will be used as background music instead.

Okay, so I went and made another website dedicated to an upcoming Disney movie! This time, "Atlantis" gets the site! Visit the page at http://lostcity.moviefever.com

NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH! NEWSFLASH!

Okay, this is a little bit off the subject of "Kingdom In The Sun", but still Disney-related: did you know that Disney's upcoming movie "Dinosaur" cost over $350 million to make? That's more than "Titanic"!

N.B. Okay, people; I still think that Nina will be the best character!

Disney's latest full-length animated feature, "Kingdom In The Sun" is a "Prince And The Pauper"-type story based in an Inca city of pre-Columbian Peru.
It tells the story of a simple llama herder, Pacha (Owen Wilson), and a spoilt, self-centered prince called Manco (David Spade). Both are completely identical, with one exception: Manco has the Mark Of The Sun on his arm. So, the two then decide to switch places.
Meanwhile, a princess called Nina (Carla Cugino), [who might be betrothed to Manco?] really hates the spoilt prince, but when Pacha becomes prince, she starts to "kinda like him", if you know what I mean.
However, an evil, vain and aging priestess, Yzma (Eartha Kitt), finds out that the two guys have switched places. She turns the real Manco into a llama, knowing that Pacha is powerless to stop her, which gives her a chance to take over the kingdom.

I think it sounds great! I'm curious to see what Nina looks like. If she's sarcastic and brave, then she's one of my favourite characters!
And finally, the actualt release date for this movie has, believe it or not, been kept for 23rd June, 2000!

InTeReStInG FaCt - Animator Ruben Aquino has this to say about animating Pacha, (and about the movie in general):
"It's set in pre-Columbian Peru, where he's [Pacha] a llama herder, poor kid!...Pacha has a heart of gold, he's a good guy, whereas the prince is sort of a self-absorbed spoilt brat."

Aquino has been with Disney for years, working as an inbetweener for "Mickey's Christmas Carol", after which he was promoted to animator for "The Black Cauldron". He has animated a lot of memorable Disney characters. Among them are:-

1. Dr. Watson, Basil's sidekick, and Mrs. Judson the housekeeper ("The Great Mouse Detective")
2. Francis, the bulldog ("Oliver & Company")
3. Ursula, the sea witch ("The Little Mermaid")
4. Jake, the kangaroo mouse ("The Rescuers Down Under")
5. Maurice, Belle's father ("Beauty And The Beast")
6. Adult Simba ("The Lion King")
7. Chief Powhattan ("Pocahontas")
8. Li Shang, the army captain, and Fa Li, Mulan's mother ("Mulan")

...And of course,

9. Pacha, the llama herder ("Kingdom In The Sun")
