Just a few more notes on the Greatest Hits CD, Troublesome96 has been modified slightly and same with Unconditional Love and there is a new version of Toss it Up on the CD, and How Do You Want It is censored (the part about Delores Tucker - she sued for 9 million dollars) . As well, the older songs on the CD sound better than on the CD they were originally released on. Check out for example TRAPPED on 2pacalypsenow and then on the Greatest Hits CD - it is tight having those songs in better quality. Also All Bout U is a new version with 2Pac and TOPP DAWG - Topp Dawg drops the last verse in the song replacing Snoop's talking in the original.

Another remarkable thing about this CD is it a JOINT venture between Deathrow and Amaru (with michel'le being the project coordinator!) As well as the unreleased tracks, two [god bless the dead and changes] are copyrighted by amaru and two [uncond. love, and troublesome] are copyrighted deathrow. This means that Deathrow and Amaru have most likely come to some settlement regarding the unreleased material and Deathrow will be putting out some 2Pac on their upcoming releases.

Some info about the cover of In His Own Words: To the left of the 1996 grave, there is a headstone that says "Eazy" on it and to the right of that there is one that says "Notorious." The guy holding the basketball is Davey D.

Interview: 2. about Bay area & the System, 4. about Suge Knight/Death Row, Biggie, East Coast/West Coast, 6. about beef wit' Biggie and his homeboys and NY shooting, 9. about Dre, Gridlock'd, Janet Jackson, the future, himself [2Pac], 10. about project wit' Jodeci, Hit 'Em Up, When We Ride On Our Enemies, Mobb Deep, 12. about his latest projects

Theres 16 tracks, there is 5 songs on it Mourn Ya Till I Join Ya, both songs that Trapp remixed (Be The Realist and Stop The Gunfire) there is 1 unreleased 2pac song called "In His Own Words" In my opinion, 2pac never even knew about this song. I believe this because there are interview parts from the cd mixed in the song. (But i'll talk more about this later). Also because the lyrics in the song are the same as 2pac's lyrics in the song "Slipping into Darkness" w/ the Funky Aztecs. The only difference is pac's verse is split up into 2 verses on "In His Own Words" The chorus is different too. There is also an Outlawz song on it too (2pac is ,not on this song). It's called "Practice What You Preach" I really like this song. The cd itself is very good. It is narrated by some guy and he tells 2pac's life story. The cd cover is orange, it shows a picture of a guy bending down w/ his hand on a basketball looking up at a huge grave w/ an angel on it. The interview, see [Interview by Sway of The Wake Up Show...it first aired on KMEL's Westside Radio on April 19 1996], is real good pac says that he was going to release a home video w/ music videos for Ambitions as A Rider and some of the other hardcore songs. He also says he made a video for ALL ABOUT U (Which most of us already knew) and All Eyez on Me. -- Info by Aaron.
"We are prayerful, prayerful that we are going to be able to release his poems as a studio spoken word project, coupled with the written word. I have just this slight ear that some company that you know, MTV fans is interested in doing this spoken word project, so you keep your fingers crossed." - Afeni Shakur
Big Syke was on a radio station in L.A. talking about Thug Life Vol. 2: The Reunion and he said that the album will be released on August 11, 1998. and 12 of the 17 songs on the album are with 2Pac. There were three more songs left supposed to be with Pac, but that wasn't done in time. So Syke did those songs without Pac.

Update 6-28: The following story I heard has not been confirmed but it sounded legit: On 92.3 in LA on 6-9-98 they had Big Syke of Thug Life and he announced that a new Thug Life album is going to be released this summer. He said the date for it was August 11, 1998. It will be called "THUG LIFE Vol.2 The Reunion". There will be 17 songs on the album. Syke also mentioned 12 out of the 17 songs will feature Tupac. Syke said the very last song Tupac ever recorded will be on that album and that song will be the first single off the album. The single is called "Thug Redemption". They also played a little portion of the song on the radio. Syke also said the album will feature "From the Cradle to the Grave[Pt.2]", "Still pourin out liquor[Pour out a lil' liqour pt.2], "Bury me a G[remix]". Syke also said there are 3 new members, and 2 original members of the group left. The members are: Makaveli, Mussolini, Mopreme, Junior Thugg, Shawn-Gotti, & Lil' Gambino. The album also features guest appearences by Danny Boy, Bizzy Bone, Scareface, KC-i & JoJo, & E40. Master P is featured on a song but not one of the songs with Tupac, the song P was in was a later song done earlier this year. The song P is in is a dedication song to Tupac and Kevin Miller called "Legends". The album will be out on Amaru/Jive records. Syke said that this is something that he and Tupac were working on before Tupac was shot. They completed 10 songs in the studio with Pac, but when Pac was shot they had two unfinished songs left for "Thug Life vol.2." Both songs were supposed to contain two verses from both just Pac and Syke, but on both songs Pac only got one verse in, so Syke had to fill in an extra line. Syke also said Pac left behind a Rap notebook full of lyrics. Two songs from that notebook were used on the Thug Life vol.2 album. Syke said Pac wanted those two songs on the album so Thug Life did it, without Pac. I also heard the 2nd single for the album will be entitled "2deep in this game"[featuring KC-i & JoJo]."

The Krib reports that there is an August 11 release date for Thug Life Volume II: The Renunion, and it says that it features Master P, Scarface, Danny Boy, E-40, K-Ci & JoJo. It also says that it is being released from Jive and Amaru.
Daz Dillinger is currently puttin the finishing touches on the "Makaveli: One Nation" album I. Album II will be released by Duck Down Records in the year 2000.
A new album called "Makaveli and Dillinger," is coming out next year. It is an album composed of Makaveli/2Pac, and Daz Dillinger songs they did together. There are around 120 Makaveli/Dillinger songs unreleased and this album will feature some and is being put out by Death Row....Daz recently said in an interview, "I figure I got about 15 albums to drop, including about 7 with Tupac. They'll ALL be on Death Row." He also talked about another unreleased song with him, Tupac, and Scarface called "Don't Fall Asleep," and it should be released on "Makaveli and Dillinger.".......The Outlawz album, Retribution, is set for release in July sometime....Another album being put out next year by Death Row is called, "Suge Knight,Death Row," and is a compilation of unreleased Death Row recordings including Dre, Snoop, Tupac, and DPG.....JD Bastin update 6-05
The Wall of Sound posted the following story: "Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur, and his manager Leila Steinberg are tapping stars from diverse musical backgrounds to play on a tribute album to the slain rapper. According to the Los Angeles Times, the women already have commitments from Ziggy Marley, Smash Mouth, Bone Thugs- N-Harmony, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Roberta Flack, and former Motown producer Lamont Dozier. Other artists of interest include Sting, Prince, Alanis Morissette, and Seal. Performers will be encouraged to maintain their unique styles on the songs, many of which will sing Shakur's raps. The album is scheduled for release next spring on Amaru Records, an Interscope-distributed label started by the rapper's mother, coinciding with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibit celebrating two decades of rap.
Afeni Shakur has cut a deal with her son's former label, Interscope, to distribute Amaru's next album, a tribute to her son featuring different musical genres. The album will feature songs performed by artists other than her son, and Shakur said she's afraid it will be a tough sell. "We have to prove that we can do it," she said.
"A Tupac Shakur tribute album featuring several artists from a variety of musical genres is expected to be released on Amaru/ Interscope Records on Sept. 13, the second anniversary of the rapper's death. The songs on the as yet untitled album will consist of previous Shakur works, but in the style of the artist covering each track. The artist roster for the project has yet to be announced. Shakur was shot while riding in a car on Sept. 7, 1996 in Las Vegas and was pronounced dead on Sept. 13 at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (allstar, Sept. 13, 1996). The Atlanta based Amaru Records, which is headed by the slain rapper's mother Afeni Shakur, was established in the fall of 1997 to continue Shakur's musical work." - Jet magazine

J.D. Bastin update 04-17 "Daz was talking the other day about 700 unreleased Tupac songs. I guarentee whoever reported that originally made a typo because 70 makes a lot more sense. Anyway he said he was working on a couple albums. One was called "Makaveli : One Nation" which will feature Buckshot Shorty, Smif-n-Wessun, Daz, Kurupt, Snoop, all the Death Row people, Heltah Skeltah, Nice N Smooth, B-Legit, Eazy E, Spice 1, Bone Thugs N Harmony, and Scarface. Basically all the people that Pac respected in hip hop. Some songs will not feature Pac though. Daz is mixing this one down now. A fall release should be expected although the Cocoa Brovaz reported that the Duck Down portion of this album isn't coming out until 2000 which I reported in a previous update. The other album was called "Makaveli and Dillinger." This one is Daz's beats and Pac's lyrics with Daz possibly lending his vocals to a few choruses and such. Both albums, along with the Outlawz' "Retribution" are supposed to come out on 2pac's Makaveli label."

Many of the tracks feature Tupac's proteges, The Outlaw Immortalz, and a number of track listings include the names of performers Tupac summarily disses. Afeni Shakur's Amaru Records has the rights to nearly all of her son's unreleased tracks, but the rights to many of the songs on "Makaveli 2" still belong to Death Row. Even though they prominently feature Tupac, they were originally recorded for use on the Outlaw Immortalz album. A spokesperson for Death Row says that they are aware of the bootleg and that a majority of the tracks will appear on the Outlaw LP, due out this Spring." [MTV]

Info I received through mail: Down in cincinnati at a place called everybody's records there are or were (this was about a month ago) two tupac bootlegs. one was the makavelli 2 cd that you talked about in your web page the other was the one I got which is called the last testament "on the third day he rose" anyway the tracks on that are troublesome '98, letter to the president, friends, all out, cause i had to, happy home, secrets of war, hell 4 a hustler, world wide dime piece, black jesus (unedited), life goes on stay strong, money on my mind, whatcha gonna do, and pac's life. the sound quality is pretty good. it starts out well goes down about the 6th track and goes back up. thought I would give you a little bit of info. thanks

Another mail I received talked about: Why is it that I have a bootleg which no one's listed or mentioned in the internet, called "Music By Jams"? It doesn't list any song titles on it, but it's definitely Tupac. It is available up and down the West. Coast apparently.
