I must say that "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is much better than "The Temple of Doom."  However, it is not without it's flaws.   First of all, let me say that this is my first official review, that I am doing while under a slight influence of Rolling Rock.  Now I realize that slight is a very subjective word, and I assure you that I can judge this movie aptly.

So, Indiana Jones (Ford) is trying to find the Ark of the Covenant.   The Ark of the Covenant is something that I once knew about.  It was in Mr. Glover's high school Bible lit. class.  I'm sure we learned all about it, I just wish I could remember.  He's trying to find the Ark before the Nazi's do.  Damn those infernal Nazis!

Overall this is a good movie.  There isn't as much drinking, sex and cigarette smoking that I generally wish to see, but that can be overlooked.   The main thing is that it is easy to watch.  There aren't any annoying supporting actors, and that really helps toward the overall enjoyment of the film.   The thing is the plot isn't as good as the second or third movies.  What basically keeps this film afloat is the action sequences.  Harrison Ford is in his usual form, and the rest just falls into place.  The thing I don't like about this movie, is at the beginning when the chic drinks like a thousand shots, and doesn't even feel the effects.  What's that all about?  She can't weigh more than one twenty, and she's fighting and shit the minute after her last shot.  C'mon.  The magic of movies I guess.  But I must say, I enjoyed this film a lot more than the first time a saw it, rent it if you want a good action, no brainer type movie.
