Soonger's Scans

Welcome to Soonger's scans intro page

Where did this madness all begin? Let me introduce my thinking to y'all...
Ever since my bro purchased a Hewlett Packard 6200C scanner, I've made the most of it by scanning a whole lotta pictures! (It also helps to have some of the best photoediting programs available... namely, Photoshop 6 and Paint Shop Pro.)

Here is a small sample of the things I've scanned. Where else do I begin but yours truly... (Please feel free to click on the images to get a better view of the world I have created...)

Recently, I've gone more modern -- with the purchase of a Hewlett-Packard Digital Camera -- HP 318, posting images onto the Internet couldn't be any easier. Plus, I don't have to waste any extra cash on developing. It's also nice that I have the inkjet printer, just for digital pictures. The digital age is here -- why not immerse oneself in it than fight it?

Xmas 1997 AsianBomb curling 1999 Soonger = sauve grad formal
    (From left to right)

    (1) It all began here in first year pharmacy-- Christmas, 1997. A whole ton of us packed the basement of Jane's house. We were quite the ambitious bunch-- a part (Chinese part) of the UofT pharmacy class of 2001. It was simpler time back then-- we didn't know each other that well. Now that we kinda know each other a little more, I don't think we'll ever have a gathering of this proportion ever again. Perhaps graduation?

    (2) Moving on to second year... part of pharmacy tradition, there is the annual curling bonspiel. (pardon my spelling) Here's my team-- the AsianBomb: Jane, Charlene, Karan, and myself. Quite the gangsta getup we have-- intimidation-factor. We were attempting to break the 'caucasians-only' feel to the game. Similar to that in golf, the 'establishment' of quiet, conservative clothing, attitude has to be changed. Adding 'colour' to the game only will make it better.

    (3) You'd think I wouldn't have a picture of me surrounded by ladies?! Any one who knows me at all should know that I would never overlook such details... here's a bunch of floormates from my residence all decked up to go to an ill-fated pro-fac party way back in the spring of 1998. (l to r) Shab, Satwant, Renee, DS, Parveen, and Jerrilyn.

    (4) Last event of the year -- our graduation formal. Held up at the top of the CN Tower, our class partied it up 'til 1 AM enjoying the view (during supper, at least) Mark Kearney was our valedictorian (well, I'm 2 for 3) and he did a fabulous job. One of the last things for the evening was the group photos. We had to have a picture of the New Crew -- me, Rashna, Alka, and Gurinder -- man, we were a team!!! Working hard, sharing info and helping each other out when we could... they are some of the best friends I have ever made and I hope we keep in touch.

    The fellas...

    the guys

This is the most recent picture of the guys (Thaksgiving 2000). Back from all over the world, we're together for Moser's stag party in Windsor. The picture has us at the Casino having a late supper. The festivities had us cruising the downtown area. I'm sure the groom-to-be had a good time...
