CHASING AMY

- **** Kevin Smith takes a stab at the romantic comedy, and brilliantly succeeds. You might not even see it coming, but this movie has some serious things to say.

A comic book artist (Ben Affleck) meets another comic book artist (Joey Lauren Adams), and she's very pretty. (And she's got that squeaky voice.) This seems like the perfect formula for your regular humdrum run-of-the-mill falling in love story, but maybe even a little more boring than usual.

The only problem (and a good thing for the film) is she's a lesbian. Problem #2: He falls in love with her.

I'm not giving away any more. Just go out and rent it, especially if you considering something like My Best Friend's Runaway Pretty Bride or something.

Forget what I said in my Clerks review, this is Kevin Smith's best movie. (also check out DOGMA)

TRIVIA: Includes tie-ins with his two previous movies and together they have been called the New Jersey Trilogy.
