- ***1/2 This movie comes off as a work of art, lacking any plot at all. It seems to perfectly re-capture a moment in time and make it amusing or inspiring to watch. This director, Richard Linklater, deserves a medal for having the courage to make what he wanted- A rock-n-roll movie set on the last day of school in '76. All around great performances, picture quality, sound quality. A really great movie. Look out for Rory Cochrane as Slater (the stoner). His performance rivals that of Sean Penn. Who was better? You decide. If you haven't seen the modern classic yet, CHECK IT OUT! A PIECE OF ART! ;-)
