- *** Hmmmmmm..... Wes Craven's BIG hit! His killer ranks up there in popularity with Micheal Myers and Jason Voorhees. Of course, it only had to happen- my review of it. Personally, I never really liked or went for the Nightmare series. On the other hand, I LIKED Nightmare 1 very much! Its lead character, Nancy, was a wonderful heroine. Freddy Krueger was a so-so villain. So, this first one is worth checking out- it's funny, scary, has good actors and dialogue- but its ending is weak. That's its only flaw, the stupid last shock value two minutes. The rest of the Nightmares sucked as Freddy gets more and more ridiculous.
