- **** Everything a fun horror movie should be. I don't know why this was overlooked by movie goers. Most the people that put together the Back to the Future movies are here in one of the best ghost stories ever made. Micheal J. Fox plays a psychic investigator who can see ghosts, but this story goes much deeper than that. It explains why there are ghosts for only some people. It explains why he can see these ghosts. And, the film's villain, who appears to Death himself has more than a few surprises for us. Great special effects, quality production, and great actors all in a horror movie so thick with plot and yet, and the same time so easy to follow. I don't know why we missed this one. I think we owe everyone who made The Frighteners a big apology. I mean, this movie even ends with "Don't Fear the Reaper." You can't beat that.
