- *** My reco: Rent only if you enjoy self-abuse. Big highlight: they tease you with a fully clothed Jennifer Love Hewitt. Four kids are partying at a beach, celebrating graduation from high school. On the way home, they were all drunk, and one of them accidently drops a bottle of alcohol into the lap of the driver. They turn a curve in the road, and they hit a man on his bike. After much debate, they throw his body in the ocean, and make a pact of secrecy. One year later, someone shows up boasting- I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER- in a letter to the most guilt-stricken member of the group, JLH. Soon this mystery man does more than sends letters. He wants revenge.
Doesn't follow the plot of the young adult book its based on... but then again, why should they be basing big budget horror movies on books for kids? That should be your first hint.
