THE WEDDING SINGER
- **** I don't know what I have to say about romantic comedies or Adam Sandler movies, but I know I saw this movie a week ago, and since I've seen it like a million times. The Wedding Singer is an absolutely irresistible movie with a lot of heart. The year is 1985, and Adam Sandler plays a wedding singer. Drew Barrymore (who acts as innocent as she is pretty here) is a waitress at the reception hall. Sandler is a happy man, about to married, until he's left standing alone at the altar. His life falls apart, and he walks around depressed. He spends much time with Drew Barrymore, and they become friends. She's getting married, too, but before long they realize they're falling in love with each other.... I never saw Adam Sandler act more human that he did here- He challenges Jim Carrey's role in The Truman Show. All the 80's references, styles, fashions, and music are here for a perfect nostalgic experience that really adds to the movie. Even if you're skeptical about The Wedding Singer or weary of Adam Sandler movies, do not pass up the wedding singer.
