.........In route home conveying a message to P. M. Lord Palmerston from Cape Colony Gov. Grey of South Africa. Kicking my heels waiting for the next packet for England attending what passes for socials & soirées here. Met & was intertwined by this stunner Miranda Spring on her yacht {full of spirit that one}, Shanghaied by her father Capt. J. C. Spring {he's done well since N'Orleans}. Held captive below decks for the trip over the middle passage. Arrived in Baltimore onboard the Clipper Sea Witch, escaped & eluded pursuers. I was intercepted in Washington D. C. by the Abolitionist leader Mr. Crixus {not again!}, then the Kuklos leader Atropos & Annette Mandeville La Force {the kinky little Georgia Popsy}, they want me to play double agent & strategist that is needed by John Brown , for their own separate reasons. Annette {she's a double agent, hmmm!} & Allen Pinkertin {head of the Secret Service} intervene, he says he first met me in Paisley during the Scots Labor Riots. I'm enlisted in the Secret Service upon the request of Sen. William Seward after a very brief meeting, I'm to join J. B. & hinder his plans on the Harper's Ferry raid {Triple agent!}. Met by a double Agent already established at Harper's Ferry, she keeps me well informed [& well entertained, whew!]. Col. Robert E. Lee of the Engineer Corps is given command of a Marine Corps contingent to retake the arsenal & J. B. alive. Col. Lee & Lt. James Ewell Brown "Jeb" Stuart plan on how their going to take J. B. "Jeb" delivers ultimatum to J. B., & the after what seems to be an eternity of talking finally signals the storming of the engine house. During J. B.'s interagation I'm brought in to try & shake him. I'm smuggled out by the double Agent as she's on her way out of towne.
